CZ 527 (.223) Scope Ideas/Opinions?

Got a 527 American in .223 on the way. Will be putting a VX-3 6.5-20x40 on it as soon as it arrives.

Make sure you order rings at the same time there a non standered mount 15mm dovetail. Had to get my rings EBAY from the Uk and fitted a vortex 4-12 diamondback.

Post some pictures once you get it mounted. You are better off with a 40mm objective like you are thinking. Because of the bolt handle clearance, a leupold 28 or 33mm objective will have to be mounted at the same height as the 40mm. The larger objective will make it appear to be mounted at the proper height, while most of the smaller scopes look like they were put on at Canadian Tire with too high rings...

I have a set of medium Leupold CZ 527 rings all ready to go.
Everything I've read says those rings will work 100%, will clear the bolt but still have enough barrel clearance room for even a 50mm objective.

I'll post pictures once it arrives. Irunguns won't get it to me until February though.

This is my setup. Sightron 4-16x40 with Burris medium CZ rings. I would have liked the scope closer to the barrel but this is as close as it can get. It looks high but my eye actually lines up properly with good cheek weld. I think a 50 mm bell would even fit.

Okay little update. Rifle is in my possession now. I should mention it is the Carbine model. I was playing around with a old Bushnell scope to check and see what size of scope will fit. The eyepiece on the Bushnell measured 41mm and has no clearance issues with the bolt. Unfortunately there is clearance issues with the rear sight and the objective lense. The Bushnell is only a 38 mm and doesn’t clear the rear sight by 5mm.

I don’t think a Leupold 33mm scope will clear the rear sight. Either I remove the rear sight and mount a full size scope, use a straight tube scope, or simply keep iron sights.
