Anyone here reloading for a CZ 527 in 223?

Looking for some gopher loads to get me started

I was thinking maybe 50 or 55 grain vmax bullets, but what's working for everyone else?

My 527 Varmint Kevlar will shoot every bullet that I tried, from 40gr to 69gr, into 1" for five shots, but it likes the 55gr Ballistic Tip in front of Benchmark best. Using Lapua cases and Federal 205 primers, it will consistently put 5 shots into 1/2" at 100 yards.

I have the 527 kevlar which is a 9" twist. Like SJ says it shoots amost everything from 40 to 70gr. I have had good results with Varget on the heavy end, RL10x, H4895, H335 for lighter stuff. Very easy caliber/rifle combo to reload for, the mag is long enough for optimum seating depth. The 50/55 ballistic tips are awesome on gophers.

I'm shooting hollow point 52 gr. cast boolits out of my rifle; it has the 1 - 12 twist and cast shoots really good out to about 140 yards, devastating on gophers and badgers :D

I have had good results (~0.6 MOA 10 shot groups) with Sierra #1385 40 grain HPs with 26.4 grains of WC 735 out of my 1:12 twist barrel. I found that any 55 grain bullet I tried gave ho-hum results.

Oops, I thought they were all 1-9 twist. Mine is the American anyone know what twist it is? I suppose that matters haha

Fold a piece of tape of your cleaning rod so looks like a flag, put a patch on it, engage the rifling with the patch, note position of flag, push through one (or two) rotation(s) of flag and measure distance rod travelled - voila (may want to repeat / verify).
