I you wanted to put a optic on a cz 527 7.62x39 cause you want one optic for hunting /target shooting what would it be. Light weight, low profile, good cheek weld big factor. Keep in mind bolt has to clear scope so we can discuss mounting solutions. I have my ideas already like to here yours.

i have a 527 otw. So far i plan to put a vx1 2-7 on it

i ordered this base

Not sure of the rings that will work with that setup.

Thoughts?

I put a 2-7x Vortex on my 527 and believe it is the perfect set up for the rifle. I'd take a 1-5 as well but a nice lost power small scope on this little rifle is perfect.

I put a Leupold Compact 2-7 on mine with Calhoon Rings that use the integral groove while staying above the bolt handle.

I mounted a Zeiss Terra 4-12 on my sons' 527 and it fit behind the rear sight, bolt clears the ocular quite well. I used the CZ rings that came with the rifle.

Straight M8/4x Leupold...........1/2 " @ 100 yards 25.5gr IMR4198 and a 123 SP Privi brass and Fed mag primer...........several deer.

The older CZ527s have a different angle in the bolt which requires them to be even higher. As you know the problem is more with the occular.
I'm using a VX2 3-9x36 and it just clears the new style bolt with medium rings.
a 42mm nikon monarch did NOT clear the occular with the new handle and med CZ rings.
a 36mm zeiss diavari-C did NOT clear the occular with the new handle and med CZ rings.

That base is decent. People recommend putting a little pellet of no 8 shot in the holes so the screws don't scratch the rifle. If you want to be able to pop off the scope to use the irons, both the leupold QRW2 and the warne qds work well. Because the warnes are vertically split, I've found I have to install the levers on opposing sides, if not I end up with the scope on max windage deflection. Might just be me that's not doing it right, but it seems to be a common issue. From the pics above, looks like Spaenaur was able to get the on normally. Not sure if there are any SAIL stores near you in Ontario but they are usually pretty good about trial fitting scope rings in store.

I've got Leopold, 2x7 x33 freedoms, on two of my CZ 527, mine are mounting in tally rings, everything fits and works well, same rings for the Swarvo Z3, on my 527 .17 hornet.
The diameter of the ocular bell, on sum scopes is the biggest problem, if the ocular bell is fat, you will likely have problems,
I think a small compact 1x5 or 2x7 Leopold, is perfect, for these small micro action rifles.

Thanks guys. Sounds like my 2-7 leup will do the job.. Thanks for the tip on the rail install with the Lead shot.. Makes sense. I already have the rail coming so ill just try the assortment of standard rings I have to see what fits best. QD would be nice though. I would have just bought the 16mm rings but I figured I might want to drop a high mag scope already in rings on from time to time. Another thought was putting my eotech 552 on the rail if if it fits with the cutout it has.

Thought id post a pic of the mount and scope combo I came up with. I think it just about right. Love the look and feel of this rifle.. Its a dpi rail and low ring set
