Where the heck do i get an extended bold handle for my CZ 527 in Canada, my gun is almost useless for a follow up shot. I hated my rem 700 because of that stupid bolt handle :( hitting my scope, had to use 2 fingers to work the bolt which was a real shame for such a nice gun.

Good god man! What size scope are you using? You may need to go with higher mounts or use a scope with smaller diameter eyepiece. I had to put a slimmer 2-7x on my 6.5 Swede because the 3-9x was too big.

Here the guy used a Leupold VX-III 6.5 to 20 power target scope.

Two options for bolt handles both are from the states:

This one is manufactured

This one is modified and you have to send in your old bolt handle

Another option, it's a bolt on rail, but it'll allow you more options for rings and heights.
This one cost me $200 from Ken but I believe Alberta tactical supply might be able to get them as they have rails for the Remington 700

I run minox 2-10x40's on both my 527's and I use medium rings, the adjustment ring is not prominent like other brands.

i have a Nikon Buckmaster, 6-18x44, it has turrets in the way, and the eyepiece is just as close as the picture shown above, problem is not that i cant work the bolt, it is that i have big Ukranian hands, and i am always scraping fingers on the optic zoom ring in the heat of the moment.

i really like the customreloadingtools handle, but they state that they do not ship to Canada, it is under 100$ so i may be able to have a friend in the states buy it for me and ship it to me (please correct me if i am wrong)

The Cahoon modified handle is another decent option, but i refuse to send away my bolt handle without one in my hand to immediately replace it, no way will i let my rifle sit there useless with a bolt handle lost in shipping or held up at the border.

The rail is a decent work arround, as i have the scope back as far as possible, and would like it back a bit more, but then the turrets become a problem, and i still need a different bolt handle.

Thanks for all of you replies, please keep them coming.

Another option is to ask a machinist to fab up a new bolt handle, you'll probably have to hand over your existing handle for awhile though.

LOL, i am a machinist and have considered doing just that, but sometimes it is just easier to buy something and see how they did it and make your own adjustments if you deem to. maybe i will have to throw something into autocad and see if i can borrow a cnc machine. You would be surprised how much work would go into making a new handle just to save 100$ or so. Of course i could make some and sell them.

Consider it, there are a lot of 527 owners and with our only options coming out of the states, and the number of sellers that will ship to Canada dwindling. If you do decide to make some let me know, I'd like one probably two with a larger knob to make my Kevlar look better. Start a thread to check interest.

CZ 527 bolt

I sent mine to James Calhoon in the US and got one back, modified and it works perfect, check his site. Give him a call, him and his wife are great folks to deal with. Cheers Roscoe ps They are fast, you won't even get the bolt handle you sent, as soon as they get yours they send you one ready to go.
