Any recommendations for a scope with sufficient eye relief for a CZ 527 Varmint in 223? I purchased a near-new one with a decent Bushnell scope that goes to 24x. But even with the scope pushed forward, I have to hold my head back unaturally to get enough eye relief to see properly through the scope. I see online that this is a common problem, because of the shortness of the action. I didn't see any useful recommendations online. I've added a slip on rubber recoil pad to lengthen the pull, but it's still a problem. A terrific rifle, except for this one problem.

I have a CZ 527 carbine in 7.62x39. I mounted a Bushnell XLT 3-9x40 on it with no problems. Good cheek weld, shoots sub moa with handloads and about 1.25 MOA with Barnaul FMJ. The Length of pull is 13.5 inches so it fits me well. That would be a fairly lengthy optic you have mounted there.... something a little more compact would fit just fine I would say.

got my 527 .223 varmint a few weeks ago. I put a Vortex Viper 4-16 x40 on it and works great for me, no concerns with eye relief.

Leupold on my CZ Safari Magnum .375 H&H, plenty eye relief and great glass. VX 2 2-7X33.

Got spooked on a Bushnell with pop up covers a few years ago, rear cover release rubbed my nose with enough force to slice it open.

Leupold, in general, has about 4 inch relief.

My 527 Prestige, probably about 15 years old has a Leupold 2x7 ultralight scope. No eye relief problems and I am just over 6'. The prestige was a model with a jeweled bolt, better blueing, and supposedly better wood, although I would argue that last point.
