CZ 527 - loose sights - solution?

Hi Folks,

I’ve had CZ 527 for quite a while and I think it is one of the most comfortable rifles (to me).
Iron sights are excellent and with my arms/neck/head these sights provide for an excellent natural point of aim. Probably the most comfortable and intuitive iron sights.

Here’s an issue: after 20-40 shots the iron sights (located ~ mid barrel) come loose. You may know: they are held in place by two tiny screws. One time the sights fell off under recoil. Luckily, I saw them flying out and was able to find them on the ground.

1. Anyone else has the same issue?
2. Any solutions to this?

(I could imagine one could use a thread locker, but what is the sequence? Zero the iron sights, then undo one side, apply the locker, then apply to the screw on another side, then re-zero?)

Thanks!

I think you pretty much have to blue loctite most guns these days. I had the same happen to my Ruger PCC, CZ 527, Thompson Center R22, and Remington 597. I think if you are not dropping $2500+ on a gun where quality control goes over it with a fine tooth comb, there is some nutting and bolting to do.

Blue loctite. I personally red loctite all non-adjustable sights. Never a problem.

∆∆∆ Not many $2500+ rifles where "QC" goes over them with a cursory glance let alone "with a fine tooth comb".

If they're out of the way of any scope you might mount, I'd go Red. Barrel heat might loosen Blue ?

Same issue, first time at the range sighting the scope, came home rear sight was missing. Got no help from the vender, except they said to send it in as a return, which i didnt want. So still have no rear sight.

I love cz guns, but this left me with some distrust in the brand, i mean, why not make this a QA step before shipping?
