Hey guys-looking for some ideas and inspiration this morning. Trying to scope a 527 in 22 Hornet, and had hoped to use an older variable/AO Leupold Vari-X on CZ rings but the eye relief on the scope is too generous. Has to be positioned as far forward as it will do, which just looks wrong. Too much of the scope forward of the front ring. Regular weaver ring are OK on a rail, but the strongest rail type (EGW) clamps on and adds too much height.

If you have a 527 scoped, and remember the scope/ring specs...I'd love to see what you're using? Photos very welcome, wasn't planning on scope shopping but have also wanted a 22 Hornet for a long time and want to get this right!

Thanks for taking a moment to chime-in.

The rifle is a CZ 527M Carbine in 7.62x39. The rings are Warne Quick Detach Medium height - Part No. 1B1LM. The scope is a Burris 4X with like Duplex reticle.

I suspect most full size scopes look a little off on these little rifles lol. I wouldn't sweat it.

My 7.62x39 carbine has a 1.75-5x32 Bushnell Legend HD, the #### chinese ones, eye relief is 4.5", difficult to scope with irons, actually have another one on a 9.3x62 98 that kicks like a mule and it's held up fine.

On my 223 American or whatever, no irons, have a 5-15x40 Phillipines Legend, works great, dunno about looks, probably a little overkill.

Both with Burris Med rings.

#### I do have a pic of one of them...

Frustration be told, try getting a scope on a CZ 600 lux with the nice 14.75" lop lol.

I have used the Warne QD rings on a carbine, and Talley's on a Varmint Kevlar. Both sets directly attach to the receiver. As mentioned, bigger scopes look a little odd on the mini Mauser action. I can send you a pic of the varmint if you would like.

My old 527 varmint.

Be careful with how low you go with that mini Mauser action. That bolt handle will conflict with a scope that’s too low. Here’s what mine looked like. Close.

Be careful.

^agree 100%, my other 527 started it's life with a 30mm scope...lasted 1 outing. lol

Appreciate the input everyone, and while I've become a Leupold/Sightron guy in the last 10 years-I've seen enough Bushnells working on 527s to give one of those a go. There is a 3200 Elite 4-12 AO sitting @ the post office up the road from my house, we'll see how that works-out!

I'll post pictures if it does.

thanks again!
