CZ 527 synthetic in 7.62 x 39

I adjusted the trigger pull on my Ruger American Ranch to 3.5lbs. It's smooth like a butter. IMHO the CZ 527 is not a bad rifle but it's much overpriced for what it offers. Price wise the Ruger Ranch beats the CZ 527 hands down. Anyway, to each his own.

My 650 dollar ruger can put SST and Fusion in sub moa just as good as the CZ. 2 inches with some of the better crappy bulk. Nothing wrong with the CZ but the caliber is a sub 200 m rifle for hunting.

Well it offers a true control round feed action, very nice metal finish, useable fully adjustable iron sights on the carbine, a 2.5 lbs trigger out of the box, a set trigger that can be adjusted down to a pound or less and full metal construction. Haven't seen these features on a Ruger American, lol.

No doubt if you want to shoot irons the CZ wins, if you want to scope it.... the antiquated bolt throw of the CZ means time to grow a bushy beard to help support the chin weld!

:)

Nobody mentioned a howa mini action yet... Its like a cz 527.. only $400 cheaper. I love mine its a tac driver

Sure, the Howa is only 1.5lbs heavier, has a longer barrel of zero real gain and lacks iron sights, set trigger or CRF. Still a nice rifle, but not as feature rich.

For Hunting... you can’t eat steal. Better get a busload of trackers if you intend to shoot anything edible at those ranges....

I think you missed the point. The 7.62x39 cartridge is capable beyond 200 yards. I tend to agree that sub 200 is where it excels.

You missed the point entirely as it realistically and ethically is a 200m HUNTING round. Shooting and plinking are entirely different and in that regard it has some potential past that range but is by no means an allstar medium or long range choice.

Absolutely. OP, if you have the budget, buy the better rifle.

triger on my howa is 1.9 LB
the extra 1.5 LB is the heavy barrel 20" variant... that being said, that's what i own and with a 3x9 scope it is 7.55LB so take that official stat with a grain of salt.
the light barrel is listed at 6.6 LB which is what .7 LB heavier then the CZ?

It's good for medium game out to 300m.

I wouldn't recommend going past 200m unless you have a rangefinder and know your rifle well though.
