I recently bought a very slightly used 527 carbine in 7.62x39. It is a sweet little rifle that I plan to use for practice, some deer hunting, and a step up caliber wise for my daughters. Unfortunately on my first range session, part way through the first box of Barnaul FMJ loads the tang of the stock split badly on both sides. One piece actually came totally off. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement, especially since this stock had nice colour and figure.
So my questions are;
- who does warranty work for CZ in Canada?
- any personal experience with this process?
- is there a source for buying another factory stock if CZ won't come good for it because I bought it used?
- should I glass bed any new stock before firing it or are the stocks usually stable?
Great little rifle and I'm surprised how much I like the 7.62x39 round. I'm considering buying either another carbine or FS 527 in 5.56 with the newer 1-9" barrel but I need more confidence about the stock issue first.
Thanks
