I just bought a CZ 550 Medium in 9.3 x 62mm.

Can anyone tell me if there is an aftermarket steel floor plate and steel magazine follower for this rifle? I can't understand why they would put plastic in such an otherwise beautiful rifle.

Best regards,

I called and talked to the distributor, It seems in the states they'll replace them for free but here you pay. Ive had mine three years or so now with no ill effects although I would much prefer steel as well. Hows it shooting for you?

I haven't fired it yet. I just picked it up at the post office last night. I loaded up some ammo the night before but I don't have my scope mounted or anything yet. The mounts that came with it are missing some screws. I think I'm going to send the whole thing to my gunsmith and get him to take the sights off and get the missing screws for the mounts so that I can shoot this thing. It sure feels nice when you shoulder it. I think the stock design fits nice but I'm not fussy on the sharp corner on the cheek piece. I think the finish will wear on that corner pretty quickly. Other than those minor things, I'm really happy with my new rifle. I can't wait to actually shoot it.

I'll check out Brownell's and see if there is a steel hardware available for this rifle.

Thanks,

I'm in the process of ordering new bottom metal from Wisner's in Washington State for my .416 Rigby. Apparently it is metal and because of the way it is made it allows you to put an extra one in the box.

If you are interested in how it turns out I can PM you once I get it and fill you in.

They have a website which I dare not hotlink. :)
