anybody have this rifle ? anybody care to share their likes and dislikes ? I am intrigued with this rifle but cant find one and don't know any-one who has one .......how much is it selling for in Ontario and what kind of accuracy can I expect......I'm thinking.243 [ already have several 6.5's and .308's ].....these full length stocks are suddenly starting to appeal to me.

I'm somewhat of a fan of fullstock rifles...
I had one in 243 and found them well built, fit and finish was excellent for the price. At the time, they were reasonably priced ($850ish). Not sure what they go for now.

I have a CZ550 FS and love it !
My only dislike about it is that it hasn't filled any tags yet ( and not the rifles fault.)
Accuracy is superb, quality of fit and finish is very good.
Considering the short barrel, balance is nice and it carries well, also being short it comes up nicely and does not snag when carrying in timber..
Mine is a 9.3 X 62...

Same as Kevan said, except mine found a moose. 729 lbs to the butcher, hide to the tanners, horns to home.I think of taking it everytime out, because it is so easy to carry, point, and shoot with authority 9.3X62. We are now in Bison season, and i would carry this first, but my new to me BRNO Zkk 602 458 Lott needs a chance too.

My 550 FS is in .308 Win... it is a nice rifle with good accuracy... if CZ came out with a 550 FS in 7X57 I would be all over it.

I have Warne QD rings on mine with a leupold 3X9 and I have lots of clearance. My rifle is in 6.5x55 and is extremely accurate. I'm finding I go for it most often now as I just like the way it carries and shoots.

Dislikes: Plastic floor plate and some sort of white metal, or cheap metal end cap. For a $1000 rifle I certainly expected better then that. My stock is also plain at best.

whats the scope clearance with the bolt knob like ?

Definitely something to watch out for. I have a 550FS .308. I had a Zeiss HD 5-25x50 on it. It was mounted with Warne QD rings. Damn. I can't remember what height but I do remember that I had only about 1/8" of clearance. Enough, but tight. If needed, I can look up the rings. That's a 25mm scope BTW. I used the Warne website for sizing and followed their guidelines. I got the lowest that would fit. The bolt clearance just worked out. That scope wasn't right for that rifle so I moved it to another. Now I need another scope for the 550.

As for the gun, I love it. It cycles smoothly and locks up tight. It seems very accurate. Any bad shots were always on me. I got mine from Wanstalls. I ordered it and waited a long time. So far, I've only shot paper with it. I'm a sucker for the FS rifles.

I have a 550 f/stock in 308. Mine has all metal, no plastic on bottom metal and removable magazine. The rifle is a tad heavy but nice to shoot. I don't walk far anymore so the weight is a non issue. The rings are cz and no problem with clearance.

I've got the 550FS in 30-06. Recently purchased after dwelling on caliber choice for quite a while.
Balance is great, open sights fall into place very natural when you bring it up, and love the full stock , anaged to get one with pretty decent wood.
Agreed the only drawback is the plastic floorplate assembly. NOT what I would expect to see on a rifle of this type, however many manufactures are going plastic nowdays.
The fit of the stock and the finish of the steel is quite good. The finish of the wood is less than I expected and will be stripping and doing a tung oil finish for sure.
Mossyhorns I'll be mounting a Leupold VX2 3-9x50 do you use medium rings with yours? And is your Leupold 3-9x50 or by 40?

Had one in 9.3x62. Too heavy. It handled like a 2x4 (2x8?) even before I put a lightweight scope on it. Sold it.

Ive got one in 30-06, it now sits in a boyd's prarie hunter laminate and makes an excellent short barreled bush rig. I run warne rings and have sufficient bolt to scope clearance. Stuffed full of 200 grain partitions over RL 17 its a handy banger.

3x9x 40 scope and yes. I am fairly certain they are medium rings. Over all I'm am happy with the rifle and I don't let the negatives distract from that. I'd also like to re finish the stock.

I have 3 of them but have only hunted with the 366 Wagner (9.3X62), also have a 7X64 (280 Rem twin almost) and a 6.5X55. I mounted a 2-7 leupold compact on my 366 Wag and my bolt just barely clears the ocular bell, but it does and it works fine. These are a medium quality rifle with a flawless reputation for reliability and most seem to give adequate to good accuracy. I like mine or I wouldn't have 3..............

Hahaha... I like your way of explaining it! I have only owned one in 375H&H. Cut it down to a 20" barrel and it was a handy heavy hitter even though it felt like a club. It took some getting used to but it was a very well built rifle, no question.
