CZ 550 fs?

I have 3 CZ 550 FSs, they are just fine as far as I'm concerned. I have a 6.5X55, 7X64 and a 9.3X62 with which I harvested an Atlantic walrus. The 9.3 is the oldest and has a different stock than the other 2 . It has a more open grip and different checkering without the ribbons and overly exaggerated grip bottom. All three have plastic bottom metal (that's kinda a contradiction in terms ain't it) which doesn't really bother me one way or the other.

When I do my part my CZ 375 H&H shoots bung hole groups with carefully loaded ammunition. Thats not to say yours will. Every rifle is different and likes its own bullets, powder, and load. Generally CZ rifles are as well made, and accurate. Fit and finish is ok if you are not too demanding as in high dollar firearm fit and finish.

Lovely full stock rifles. But odd they would cheap out by installing a plastic floor plate on their classic Mauser-style rifle. Besides not being exactly elegant wouldn't the plastic floor plate erode with use where it meets the steel latch resulting in unreliable floor plate closure??

Not a functional issue then just aesthetics but nothing a few bucks can't remedy. Those are gorgeous rifles. I just wish they made them in heavier calibers but they don't.

However my custom Mauser-style full stock Zastava LKM70 .416 RM Carbine will do.

Dang it. That FS looks gorgeous. I might have to pick up that one I saw. Very classy looking.
As for the floorplate. It matters not. Its like I’m doing rapid reloads or “up he sees me down” tactical hunting .

There's a 505 gibbs on the EE at this very moment.

My CZ-550FS in .308 has magazines. I did not know about the plastic floor plates on the others. My 527FS is at the post office. (Also uses magazines) Not ready for pick up until tomorrow. Sigh.
My CZ550FS 6.5X55, has the plastic floor plate. That 527 in 223 . Was it in Wolverine? I tried to get it. But must of been a day late. I hope they get another shipment.

The funniest thing about CZ firearms is seeing someone using weaver style cross slot rings on them and wondering why they can't zero the scope.

I love my CZ 550 LUX. It wasn't smooth at all when I bought it but just over time of me using it, it has broken in and is very smooth. The gun is also very accurate without a scope.

Why is it you can not use weaver mounts on a CZ and zero the scope

Well I did it. I headed south to Calgary this weekend to visit with my wife and daughter. I stopped by Proline Shooters not only to get a haircut from Dan the barber but also to re-visit the CZ 550 FS i looked at a week prior.
It came home with me. Original box too. What a beauty rifle.
I am the happy owner of the 550 Lux and 550 FS both in 6.5x55

Congrats... but why two 550's in 6.5x55? Personally might have gone with the Lux in 6.5x55 and the FS in 9.3X62... my son actually did go with 7X64 and 9.3X62 and they make a dandy pair to cover anything on paw or hoof.....you can always trade one if you find it too much duplication.

Hey thanks.
I’ll get some pics up when I get back home tomorrow.
I have two 6.5 Swedes because I can lol. Why would I need another caliber :). I like to keep my calibers to a minimum. But I understand your point. Had they a different caliber i might’ve considered.
For now I’m thinking of leaving it with just iron sights or until I get rings as I have a nice VXIII that’s unemployed at the moment.

Awsome!! I'm a huge 6.5x55 fan. I have one in a Browning a-bolt European.
