Hi Nutz

i have always had a thing for the CZ line up. i own a few of their rimfires and am very happy with the rifles. i am in the market for a new hunting rifle. I am taking a liking to the carbine modle as i am 6'4" i find the 24"bbl i hunt with gets hung up in the branches. so the 20"bbl is attractive. i have handled a few 550's and i am happy with the action and bolt. the irons are some of the better i have had the chance to line up. i have not got to handle the kevlar carbine first hand. i am wondering if anyone has had any experance with this stock. quality and texture overall feel. being CZ i am hoping it will be up to par with the rest of the package.

on a totaly diffrent note: anyone recommend a carbine synthetic stainless with irons. i have also pondered a detachable mag. in a full legenth action (30-06)

any advice or insite on either question would be great

thanks you

I have wanted a 550 Kevlar Carbine in 9.3 X 62 for a few years. I have never seen one in Canada. I was told recently they are only available in the USA.

Wolverine had them in .30-06 and 9.3x62 a few months ago. IIRC Riflechair purchased one and did a review.

It seems an odd thing to me as to why very few gun shops in Canada ever inventory CZ center fire rifles. Sure P&D has a 223 and this shop will have one of this and 1 of that, but no place had 10 of them on the rack ever. FS
