CZ 550 Stock Options

I am soon taking delivery of a 550 Medium Lux in 30-06 and was looking into some options for replacement stocks in the event that i want a higher cheekweld for optics use. I emailed Boyds and the informed me that the only make a stock for the 550 American and the two rifles are not interchangeable. Can anybody shine a light on this? I wouldn't have thought that there would be much difference in receivers and barrels seeing as how they are the same models. What are the differences between the two models that precludes the use of this stock? I would especially love feedback from anybody who has succeeded in swapping out stocks (Boyds or others) and what issues they ran into.

As far as I know the receivers should be the same, they just have different stocks styles.

Just got off the phone with parts and warranty at CZ USA, (913) 321-1811. Erin told me the same barreled action is used in both rifles.

The stocks are interchangeable. You are good to go!

My two main hunting rifles are a CZ 550 LUX and CZ 550 Safari and I have zero issues with cheek weld with a Bushnell 4200 Elite 2-10x40 and a Leupold VX III 1-4x20. The rifle with the 40mm objective lens has easily enough room for a 50mm objective scope. However, if you just want to replace the stock for just because, go for it.
