I was out hunting yesterday morning in a spot that I had found deer turds last week. Figured, If I wait here, I'll probably find some deer. I was out there at 5:30am sitting in frosty cold grassy ditch still pitch black out. Dawn had struck at about 6:30 and I was already hearing rustling in the bushes. The rustling got closer and closer and finally, I see the face poke up from behind a bushes. When I fired, he was no more than about 40 yards away. I already believe that hunting in thick British Columbian forests doesn't require a scope and now, a 40 yard shot confirms that. My scope was only set of x3 for that shot. Anyways, Its the first deer I've taken with my new CZ 550 LUX .270, Please don't laugh when you see how small are west Vancouver Island Blacktail deer is. Only a 2 pointer but I'm not a trophy hunter. Horn soup doesn't taste good at all.
