CZ 550 Varmint

I have been thinking the same thing. I have several BRNO ZKK's (I believe the CZ actions are clones of the ZKK with some minor cosmetic changes) and they are all very accurate ... at least for hunting rifles. I like the actions very much and think that they are well made and designed.

Having said that the challenge is that there does not seem to be a lot of folks making bits for them like the Rem 700 based actions (eg stocks, Sight bases, trigger groups/parts)...also the trigger (at least on the ZKK) is an odd arrangement that is suspended from the trigger guard - the relationship with the cocking piece is determined by the action screw and associated spacer. I don't know anyone who is promoting/performing action work on them (eg truing, rebarrelling) which might be moot I suppose. As a result - I would be very happy to own one of the varmint/target CZ's ... but I think there may be better ways to be competitive.

I really like the Savage model 10 FCP - I just cant seem to find one! I would like to stick to .308 but there is not much out there.

I have short listed 4 guns - 2 categories - cheap and expensive...

Cheap:
Model 12 bvss - .308
700 varmint - .308

Expensive:
Sako trg 22 - .308
Swiss army Tacticle .308

I think I am leaning towards the model 12 bvss however I dislike the internal mag... What do you guys think???

My Savage too has the internal magazine, so does my F class Mauser. 99 % of the time I load 1 round at a time. So, internal mag or not makes no difference to me personally.
