Apparently the "carbine" and the other rifle configurations all come with a 20.5 in barrel. So what makes the carbine a carbine?

I am likely going to buy one (probably a LUX) but just have to decide on the cartridge.

Open sights and a walnut stock, write up in the new Rifle magazine. FS

AFAIK, no retailer has those 2014 Carbines (at least not in ON). Based on a conversation about a month back, the ON distributor had no idea either when the new products would be available. He does have a shipment of CZ550s scheduled somewhere down the road. Hopefully, maybe a few of the new 557 Carbines could trickle in with that bunch.....needless to mention the 557 model lacks the CRF action, set trigger feature etc. I just hope they didn't use a plastic floor plate like the ones on 550. :)
