CZ 600 LUX 8x57

Wow, big changes at CZ. I am "Crushed" that the CZ527 is discontinued. I am glad to hear that there is various size receivers to still cover the range of calibers. I like that the bolt removal is improved over that edge piece of metal that needed to be depressed in the 557 series. I am hoping the limited model list for the new 600 is to due with the first year launch of the series. The use of new mounts should make the rifle more user friendly to equip with a scope than previous models which were at times tough to find proprietary or quality alternative rings to use.

The lux looks good, I wish there would be more calibers available and more importantly I wish I could handle one in person!!

Cool idea, and then you will have irons. I have a compete CZ 557 fully adjustable front sight assembly that I can install if I wanted to. However, I always wanted a hunting rifle set-up with a red dot, so I will see how that goes first.

I have a question: What attracts hunters/shooters to the 8x57/8mm Mauser? I'd be very interested to find out.

For me it was the history and nostalgia. Classic and the grand daddy to all .473" based cartridges. Also Turns out to be a great all around hunting cartridge as well. No different than a 30-06.

150gr-2900+ fps
180gr-2700+ fps
200gr- 2550+ fps
220gr-2450+/- fps

It's the vintage rifles (Sporting and Military) it's chambered in. It's also an excellent cartridge and probably the most influencial smokeless round.

In the new CZ 600 Lux, the only cartridges that do something the 8x57 doesn't are the 223 and 300 Win Mag.

I could get into one of these...they all have nice fast twist rates in 223/6mm/6.5mm.
Wish the muzzle threading was our standards and not Euro standards, not a deal breaker.

I'm disappointed in the calibres being offered in the Lux especially (except the 8x57).

No 6.5x55 in any of the 600 series, at least give us that for the Lux....

8x57 attraction for me; just seems right in a Mauser 98 even if it was designed for the commission rifle

Vintage cartridge that has a lot of “modern” design features.

The rimmed version in single shots duplicates 308/30-06 while having a rim

Something cool about 196 grain roundnose bullets too. People love the 338 fed and 358 win with 200s often at lesser velocity

Wanting an alpha 8x57, heavy barrel for range use and light overall. Might be poorly balanced though. I bet with the lighter contour lux barrel it would be a great

Pretty shy of “first come first serve” preorders; fool me once…
