CZ 600 recall

They should have just kept making the old 600 series of rifles
The Sauer 202 design should have been used as the barrel changed standard
I have a 202 in 3006 with the various barrels and magazines
 
The trail could still be a cool purchase, but it looks like their standard line up of rifles will be going into a highly competitive market without much differentiating them
 
I’d buy one with a brewer nut or barrel threaded directly into the reciever but without aftermarket or at home barrel swaps the way the barrel is machined becomes more of an impediment for sure. Unlikely I would shoot a barrel out, but it gives the rifle the lifespan of replacement barrels if they are even marketed.

You would think going to a brewer nut could drive down prices even more too. Not sure if the bolt head design hinges on the unique chamber though.

Massive R&D fail. RIP to the 527.

They would have had my interest with a novel CRF action, the sako 85 style hybrid detach top load mag, light alloy receivers and machined in pic bases. I even wanted to try that ugly alpha stock


The promise of an eventual decocking safety intrigued me also but it’s kind of annoying to have that dangled in the press releases for the future on a brand new product.

All that is in the wash now I guess, I can’t see an advantage to the end user or manufacturer from having a barrel that enshrouds the bolt face attached with screws.

Saved me money I suppose and glad I didn’t preorder.
 
Found the Sabbatti Saphir online last night, very similar gun. Seemingly identical swap barrel system, aluminum receiver with milled in pic bases. 3 lugs but push feed with a “ guillotine extractor”.

Not sure which one came out first
