CZ 75 first Gen

They came out first, that makes them first generation. After that then came a second generation. This of course is ignoring the transitional models. ;)

The following is an early first generation CZ75 with a BoMar rib installed. As far as I know the first generation guns had a round triggerguard rather than the current style.

Here is my vintage 1984 CZ-75 Pre-B:

Apart from the rounded trigger guard (& numerous dings & scratches...:p ), another difference is that the Pre-B models don't have a firing pin block. Some contend that this makes for a smoother trigger pull...

Have no idea how old my pre-b is, but it goes bang every time, is dead nuts accurate, eats any ammo I put into it...
Other than the fact that I love it, do you need any other info? ;)

There should be a two digit date stamped above the extractor.

Here's mine from '86. Some rub marks in the paint but feels great in the hand and goes bang every time. :)

The "Made in Czechoslovakia" is kinda cool too! Nothing like having a piece of history from a now defunct country.

Thank you all for your generous help, my aquaintance is looking to purchase one. Preferably in next to new condition.

Will post in the E&E after i find out more details from him.

Again thank you all, those are some fine looking handguns.

But now I have a question... the mag retention spring... is this something they still have?
It's one reason mine hasn't made it out to IDPA yet.
I've been told if you remove it, you may have minor issues with mag alignment.

The mag retention spring is handy when you have to do a mag change with retention of the old mag.

Just removing it is no good. If you pull it out you have a problem with alignment. If you angle the mag back a bit it can prevent the mag from being inserted properly, then you have to play with it. I had mine out for a while then put it back in.

If it becomes a problem then I will make a straight replacement that does not restrict the mag.
