CZ 75 info please? or get the NP-29?

Hi there!
Im buying my first pistol and am very interested in buying a CZ 75, 9mm.
Ive already got the deal lined up unless someone can beat it?
The one im looking at is out of province so i cant really hold it.
Gun is double stack traditional D/A It only comes with one mag which will need to be pinned. Its in great shape.
Where can i get extra mags for it? Also it doesnt have a changable front sight. can anyone suggest a low profile adj. rear sight?
Are there lots of parts out there since i figured the standard 75 is discontinued?

One more thing any reason why you wouldnt shoot a CZ?

I just noticed Marstar has the 1911A1 NP-29 in stock now. Would I be better off getting one of those in the long run? Im sort of in the need to buy a pistol soon since im in the process of an att.

I think you'll be pleased with it. The CZ 75 has an excellent reputation and is a nice gun.
 
it's fine, I have one of those; you can get extra mags from a bunch of places, but this being a pre-B, a lot of the cheaper after-market mags won't fit it - so you'll need the much more expensive CZ mags.

Also, keep in mind, if you want to keep the option open to shoot it in IPSC, you probably don't want to be making any modifications to it (like putting in adjustable sights, etc). if you want adjustable sights in a CZ, get the CZ-85Combat...

The CZ-75B is a base CZ gun, there are still being made, and lots of them around. .
 
I'm a Norinco-plinko NP29 fan.

I must tell you NOT to buy ONE NP29. Don't even bother with ONE.

GET TWO of the darn things!!

Mags are easy to find, parts from ANY single stack 1911 will fit the NP29 except for the metric threaded grip screws (easy to re-tap and add bushings and new screws). The NP29 is the most secret and unknown value after the $ 399 M14's !! Nope, I don't work for Peter or Johnone at Marstar....

People on this board seem to love their NP29's. Shoots more accurate than I can hold it.

I have owned a Norinco 1911, a browning HP, a few revolvers a CZ75 and CZ75B.

I sold my CZ75 one day as I wasn't using it... then Martin made his ban announcement. I soon after bought a CZ75B and I plan to own it forever.

I will buy and sell other guns in the future but I will always have my CZ75B
 
Personnaly I wouldn't buy it if it's double action only. If you like 8-12lbs trigger ok but you would be better with a SA/DA.

Just my oppinion :)

Just found out that marstar is stocking the 1911's again.
Im really thinking I should get that instead. I want to shoot the pistol a lot and figure if i need parts i can find a better deal. Speaking of that Is it just as easy to get parts for the double stack as it is the single?

Go for the CZ. Well made & accurate shooters. The best bang for your buck these days. I

It will also have a much higher resale value than a Norinco 1911 if you decide to part with it.
 
You really can't go wrong here, but the Norc will "need" (they're goober guns) work while the CZ will only need ammo. I had one and it was a great pistol. Shoot more, goober less.
 
Ive made a decision sort of based on the info i got here and some gathered from other shooters. Im not gettin a centerfire pistol just yet.
Since i had trouble paying for shells while at school for the trap season there is no way im gonna be able to afford rounds for competitions.
Im gonna buy a Ruger 22/45 with 4 inch barrel and get a tonne of practice at the IDPA stages, handle some more guns then instead of buying what i can afford I will buy what i want.

You mention this is your first pistol...

Unless you are grandfathered (which I doubt) a 4 inch barrel would be a prohib...

You would have to get either a P512MKIII (5 1/2 inch barrel) or a KP512MKIII (5 1/2 inch Bill Barrel)
