I have cross posted this from the Rimfire forum because I only got one response. I'm hoping to get a bit more varied response.

MODS: If this is breaking rules please feel free to delete.

Ok, so I did use the search and did not find much information...

What I did find was all positive, but would like to see if we can have a bit of a discussion on the topic.

I have purchased a CZ 75B 9mm, I have a line on the Kadet Adapter Kit.

Does the kit work well?

Is it reliable?

What is change over time like?

Is it worth the hassle, or would it be better to purchase a dedicated .22LR pistol?

I know I don't have to ask this, but please feel free to add any other pearls of wisdom you may have on the Kadet Adapter Kit!

Thanks!

The kit works very well, even with standard velocity ammo if you maintain it properly.
One of the most reliable semi's (they all malfunction once in awhile)
Change over is 10 seconds
There is no hassle to only having one frame, I change back and forth all the time.
I did have to lightly file mine initially to get the fit right. It is also slightly larger in the holster with the kit on. Not a big deal with leather, requires dremeling on kydex though.

Its accuracy directly depends on its fit on your CZ frame. If fitted properly, it produces very acceptable accuracy. I have one for my CZ85 and am very happy with it. Easy to swap and therefore easy to clean, as opposed to to the Ruger .22s which I owned before buying the conversion kit. Mine is not ammo-sensitive either. I say go with it but make sure that it is fitted properly. My 2 cents.

I have two questions, how much is this kit? and does it work on a shadow too? Figure it would be a much cheaper way to practice.

Shooter's Choice in Waterloo Ont. has a price of $640 for it on their web site.

As for the Shadow, I can't say... but my guess would be yes it will because at the end of the day, it's still a CZ 75 Frame...

If you bought 75B with Omega trigger, Kadet won't work. Check out markings on left side of the slide, if there is Omega symbol - it's no go.
Just a word of caution.

By all means buy one. Mine is totally reliable with all the ammunition I have tried. The instructions say to use standard velocity, but I use both standard and high velocity with no problems. Others I know do the same with the same result. Change over time is a few seconds as the slide is changed as a unit. The only other change is the magazine. Be sure you receive two magazines as that is the way they are shipped, but some unscrupulous fellows liberate one to sell, and they are expensive.

The advantage with a Kit is that you use the same chassis for .22 and 9 mm, which means you have the same handling characteristics and same trigger. Accuracy is excellent as well. My Kit has almost replaced my Ruger 22/45. Yeah, I still take the Ruger along from time to time as it is a fun pistol.

I recommend all cZ owners buy a Kadet Kit and as far as I know it fits everything but the Omega.

so how much $???

I too like my shadow. More so with a few improvements I made;)

Of course I must take pity on its existence in the same safe as a pair of
Ruger 3 screw SA revolvers and my new freedom arms SA revolver.:stirthepot2:

We must be open minded right?

Anyway is $600 + the best price going on a kadet now?

Can anybody find better?

The kit is one of the most accurate and reliable kits out there. Read the instructions on the minor fitting you may have to do. This is normal. Like previously posted the kit works with all types of ammo.

Take Care

guns and things has them, i got mine used (but still new in wrap) from someone who bought it from there

My friend has a shadow, and the conversion kit. Seems to work great. I think he had to do a very minor bit of fitting to get it to install.

Wholesale sports has them listed at $620.

Some place in Alberta called DAK Sports Inc. has them listed at $460, which seems too good to be true. Out of stock as well.

From the home page:
Pistols->CZ

Don't know anything about them, other than what's on their website.

Multi forum posts aren't allowed. But since this one here in Pistols & Revolvers discussion is generating more responses I will lock the one in Rimfire.... ;)
