Is this a normal thing with other guns? What's the life expectancy for a side stop on say a 1911, Glock, etc? I don't shoot crazy high volume so I have no idea.
Are you saying it's moreso due to the 75 being a flawed design?
It's a different design, part of the barrel linkage, like the 1911, and subject to greater and different stresses.
Slide stops on striker fired polymer frame guns (like the Glock) don't have anything to do with the barrel and have quite an easy life by comparison.
