I'm looking to buy a CZ-75 Pre-B, but I know there been a big issue about the magazines compatibility.
I have heard a lot of mixed review about how the new generation of CZ mags will work and others say it won't work at all.
If you can help clear up this misunderstanding, it would be a great help.
Thanks

As I understand it there are three versions of the 75B series. the true PreB's, the transitional models and the 75B frame as we know it. The earlier PreB's and some of the transitional models had tighter mag wells and mag channels. I had an 85 Combat made in 1988 and it was a true PreB. I took a dremel and opened up the magwell and channel. Once this was done I was able to use the newer mags with no problem. At some point, obviously after 1988 CZ changed the dimensions of the mag channel to what it is today.
I know my 1988 85 Combat was a dream to shoot and I regret selling it but it came with the round cut in the slide for the rear sight so I sold it as I was not happy with the sights on the gun.
Hope this helps. If you have a dremel find where the new mags are binding and cut awys enough metal to allow them to fit in the gun. Once the well is opened up the new CZ mags will work in the gun.
Take Care
