Just got my new-old CZ75 from Gunnar at Armco, looks excellent for the age... so here goes, I got this to shoot in production, and wasn't aware of a "half-####" position that the hammer can go to. Any thoughts? Only thing I've noticed this does is lock the slide, you can still pull the trigger and get a BANG.

The action as far as the trigger is concerned is the same as DA from full down hammer.
It could probably prevent a accidental firing should the rear of the gun suffer an impact which could happen if the hammer was resting on the firing pin.
The safety cannot be engaged in the full down or half cocked position.

Yeah that I had noticed (the safety) just wondered if there was any other secret.
Thanks Target

Your welcome.
I'm definitely no expert, and only expressed my conclusions regarding my own CZ85 pre B. Even in the half cocked position if you pull the slide back it will then become fully cocked, (SA). So that's the only explanation I can think of for the half cocked position.
If there is some special reason for what you described, maybe another CGN member has the answer.

The first CZ75's in Canada came with a factory target. Fine, high quality pistols. Too big for my hand though. Trigger's too far forward.

Funny how a particular gun fits different people's hands in very unique ways. I would say that my CZ is very comfortable in my rather large mitts, but in no way is it too large.
I feel comfortable with even large wooden grips on some revolvers.

I put my CZ's on half #### when I dissasemble them. I find it easier to get the two little lines on the frame and slide matched up for disassembly in the half #### position.
