CZ 75 Pre B Slide Stop

Hello all,

I have a CZ 75 Pre B that was gifted to me by a good friend. I love the gun and it shoots great. During my endeavours to learn more about these guns I've been told by many people that the slide locks on these guns are prone to breaking due to over tempering of the metal.

Does anyone know where I can find a good reproduction of this part. Or another part that will work. I was thinking of putting in a replacement and keeping the original safe, I would hate to break it.

I had a 85 Combat PreB and the slide stop broke. I had a gunsmith widen the holes is accept the newer slide stop which was thicker in diameter. I believe that is the best option should yours break. The older slide stops were just as hard they just were thinner in diameter. I would not do anything until the slide stop broke. It might never break in your lifetime.

I got mine from CZ Custom in the US. They only have the one part which is stated to fit ALL 75's and SP01's. And at the time I believe it even said for the listing for the pre-B stop "see stop PN ###x" which was the one for the new 75b's and SP-01's. Turned out that it fit fine in my older 75 and the gun works like a charm.

Keep an eye on how strongly the gun ejects the empties. If it launches them out more than 10 feet away before they land then you may have too soft a recoil spring. You want to see the empties coming out with a bit of zest but they should still strike the ground at some distance between 6 and 10 feet. If they arc out much further than it indicates that the slide is opening with excess energy. And that energy gets taken up by the slide stop and that's what breaks them. So it's not a bad idea to invest in a couple of new recoil springs at the same time you pick up a spare slide stop.

Thanks Bob, I was able to find a good replacement from CZ customs that fits just fine.
