Cz-75 questions

my cz-75 sp01 is the most accurate (centrefire) pistol I've ever tried. I can reliably hold a 10cm group at 50m, something which I wasn't able to do with any of the other guns I tried.
I had some reliability issues with my older CZ pistols (an 85combat), but haven't hit any problems with the sp01 yet.

The CZ75 is the most accurate pistol you will find shooting the 9 mm luger cartridge.

but the above gun does a hell of a job. Early model 1.
The original owner wanted target sights and they were not available for the gun at the time so he had a Bomar rib put on the gun. Unfortunately this cut the value of the gun because as one of the early model it had collectors value.
The trigger (hammer, sear, etc.) has been worked on and the hammer is not original. This gun is real nice to shoot. A little light trigger takeup then you feel it stop. Pull harder and it breaks cleanly (single action). Notice the added stop behind the trigger.
This gun had a custom barrel made for it. The muzzel end feels solid in the slide. After 1/2" the barrel is turned down to give some clearance so the barrel can drop down when it unlocks from the slide. The lockup at the chamber is also real tight. If you push down on the barrel when locked up it will not move. Try that with most guns and the barrel will drop down a bit. My Colt Gold Cup is sloppy compared to this gun.
My brother bought a CZ75 because of how good the above gun is. Well it was not the same thing. Still it is a very good gun.
I was at Wholesale Sports a couple of weeks ago and I looked at a new CZ85. The trigger reminded me of one of my P-38s. Gritty trigger. I would have a hard time buying it after I had the above gun.
The gun has been reliable but then again it is not a stock gun. I don't shoot it much. Don't want to wear it out just to throw some lead down range. I've got a lot more choices, but I still would like to shoot a CZ75/85 pattern gun more often. I would like to know what the Norinco NZ85 is like compared to a new CZ85. For some reason I have had the urge to buy a Norinco NZ-85 or NP-40. The NP-40 interests me because I don't have a gun chambered in 40 S&W yet. But I wonder if the Norc can take the punishment.

lcpaintballer, CZ75s are very reliable and combat accurate. With this said, their accuracy isn't in a league with a Sig P210, Wather P88, or a Browning BDM. Regards, Richard

Well, the current IPSC and USPSA and World first and second place production shooters are shooting CZs.
I know IPSC1 shoots one, and he is last year's Production Canadian champion.
Eric the wonder boy shoots a more expensive copy of the CZ action, and so does Henning who comes and wipes our bottoms for us every year. He is the national champion in about 6 different countries and as many states.
I've had them in both 9 and .40 and they are both extremely accurate out of the box. Some very simple polishing and deburring gets you a quite decent trigger.
I'm a fan. I think it is very good value for the money.

Bought used. .40 cal with Graphed on Magwell, customed SA trigger job. I have probably 4-5K rounds thru it myself.
Also have a pre-Kadet .22LR slide and 2 mags for cheap plinking and that has even HIGHER round count.
I love the feel and accuracy. It is a heavier handgun though as there is no polymer.
All those mags have been changed out since however through abuse and wear.

Rudy H - Your Colt 1911 barrel is designed to that way and what you are experieincing is not abnormal.

Frankly, they are awful sights with a sight picture similar to a Mil-Spec 1911 or the old FN Hi-Power fixed sights. They take a bit longer to pick up but for IDPA sytle shooting and IPSC they are fine.
CZ's are built like tanks and you won't go wrong getting one. Take a hard look at the Tanfoglio line as well, a CZ clone. I have the "L" model and it is an outstanding shooter. I think the Sports Combat model would be another great choice.

I have a CZ75b and I love it. I really had no interest in the gun having handled one, I'm more of a polymer type of pistol guy. For fun I tried a cz75 at the range one day.
After three shots I decided to buy one, and have never regretted it!
For a stock trigger I was amazed at how accurate it was.
