CZ-75 - Real or Clone?

Not to sound like a cheap-*ss, but other than fit and finish, is there any difference between the Norc NZ-75 and the CZ-75? (this coming from a new shooter whose first and only gun is the M213... like it, btw , but then again I have next to no experience in this)

I ask this because there are 3 guns I want to eventually own (beretta 92-FS, some type of 1911, and the CZ). I like the value of the norcs, and will probably go with the police model 1911 from Canadaammo, although I will purchase the 9mm guns first as I'm not set up to reload .45 yet. I'm just not sure about which "CZ" to buy. I'm not planning on going into any competitions, and thought the extra few hundred dollars could just go towards more ammo, if there isn't that big a difference between the two guns. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Well, I have at least one answer, actually posted on the CZ-75 VS CZ85 thread - the difference in the sights (thanks, Colin). Which MAY be a clincher for me.

I will take a NZ 85 over a 75 if I would have to pick a Norinco because a little more feature. Nothing wrong with them.

By the time you add new sights you probably are better off just buying a CZ75B or 85 Combat. Kydex holsters can be a problem with the Norincos from what I have heard. Only a concern if you plan to shoot IDPA or IPSC.

I'd get the CZ for sure. It's not like it's going to go bad or has a shelf-life and from now one when someone asks what kind of pistol that is do you want to have to answer "it's a copy of a good pistol, but it works just fine."

I mean y can try Nork first, I mean it's just $350... and if it's not up to standard you will be able to sell it off for almost the same price with no time....

I would go for the CZ over the Norinco, given that CZs aren't terribly expensive. The Tanfoglio CZ clones may be another option worth looking at.

My CZ 75B has had thousands of rounds through it with nary a hiccup.

I have the norc cz clone and its a nice little pistol. It wasn't the pistol I was thinking of buying that day, but once I picked it up it fit really well so I bought it. I wasn't thinking original vs clone at all. I guess I gave the clone a chance to stand for itself.
