CZ 75 Shadow holster recommendations?

A guy is selling a Blade tech one on the exchange, newest style is the dropped and offset with tec lock. I use one without tec lok and it's pretty good. Or spend the money and get a Ghost. Best choices I think.

Thanks - are there any good quality choices in black leather that you're aware of?

There are all kinds of leather options. Most people would assume that a Shadow was intended for competition, and for that reason you won't get any recommendations for leather. If you want to be competitive, you'll probably choose Kydex. Leather just isn't as conducive to a clean draw as is Kydex.

There are many, many, excellent choices in gunleather.

The biggest problem you will face is deciding which one, and then waiting for it to produced just for you.

I suggest you look at:

Kramer; Mernickle; Ken Null; Mitch Rosen; C. Rusty Sherrick; Milt Sparks; TT, and; UBG.

Look at all of these websites. Pay particular attention to their delivery estimates.

The waiting is the hardest part.

If you're handy with other crafts consider making your own. Here's a picture of the holster and mag pouches I made for my CZ 75 to use in IDPA. This was my first ever serious leather working job. I'd done a few other small bits and pieces before but nothing at all this fancy.

Note that this was part way through making the holster. The belt loops were still to be cut at this stage.

The mag pouches in this case are Kydex heated and folded over a wood form to produce an expandable mag. Sleeves of bicycle innertube rubber around the upper portions are the "spring" to provide tension to retain the mags.

I then went on to make a two layer glued and stitched belt to provide a nice stiff mount to hold all this stuff.

It really wasn't all that hard. I worked with a few sources from online both from helpful websites and videos found on You Tube for techniques and tools and then just jumped in.

Excellent, thanks for the links.

I'm just interested in shooting for the time being, and want a nice comfortable leather holster. If I do get interested in competing I'd definitely get an second one in Kydex if the leather one wasn't cutting it.

I'm not handy in that way, but very nice work!

Leather is certainly nice. But if you're just after somewhere to park the Shadow while at the range and you won't be competing with it then an Uncle Mikes soft cordura holster is fine. I've got one which I use to carry a few different guns around when at my club's monthly Speed Steel meets. It's not fancy but it's got a nice soft lining and it fits a wide variety of my handguns all in one size.

The one I got was their Size 18. It was intended for my big N frame Model 28 revolver. But it turned out to work just fine with every semi auto I've got as well. Including the Shadow which it fit with a nice deep, secure and yet easy to draw like way. And at only $16 (from Wholesale Sports) it'll do nicely to try at first and if you still want a custom made leather one it'll do the job until your custom leather arrives.

Yep, that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Good ideas thanks, I'll check it out.
