Cz 75 shadow recoil spring question

Thanks Dean and Chilidip.

I have a new Shadowline. Wanting a metal guide rod, I bought a SS guide rod from Dlask and they sold me a 13 lbs spring to fit on it. I will shoot only factory 114 and 124 grain ammo with it. Is that okay? I mean will damage anything? Also, should I install that little translucide soft plasticky buffer they sold me with the guide rod?

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate.

Gilbert

Cajun Gun Works isn't a fan of the buffer, if you're doing a lot of shooting and not keeping an eye on it and replacing it when worn, bits of plastic will get into the workings of the gun. The average recreational shooter is fine having it installed as long as they keep an eye on it's condition. Brownells sells replacements.

The Brownells buffers are crap, they last 1000 rounds or less. The CZ buffer, the thick one, in my match gun had over 10,000 rounds on it and is only just showing cuts into it from the slide. All 3 of my Shadowmates have them as do my 3 other Shadows. Combined total of rounds through those guns is about 450,000. My old gun has over 130,000 rounds through it, the vast majority with the buffs installed. When the CZ ones fail they don't tend to send bit and pieces into the gun, they just get sliced through by the slide and stop being buffers. The Brownells ones crack and fall to pieces.
The point about the 11lb recoil spring and light Power factor loads is correct, if you're not using buffs, although with 124 or 115 grain ammo at higher PFs a heavier spring will take the slide velocity and reduce some of the snap.

Sorry for the delay, but finally ordered the 13 and 11 lbs springs, and some fiber optic rods too from select shooting supplies. Will give feedback after I play with them at the range.

and believe it or not , wifey says I can man up and start reloading....LOL not sure what she is planning, but it's gonna cost me.

Yikes, rant time, 2 CZ buffers on the way, $10. Shipping $15 ......., I really hate our shipping rates. I should have had a CGN member from BC throw them in an envelop for a few bucks lol.
