I finally bought my first handgun and immediately found these old eyes really don't like the rear sight on the CZ 75 Shadow SP01. It's an awesome gun and I would have bought an optics ready Shadow 2 if the wife would let me. Now that I have the pistol I'm looking at an immediate upgrade to an optic.
Where can I find the dovetail mount in Canada?
What's the best optic for a guy with old eyes like me?

I didn't like my Leupold dovetail mount for my CZ. Dovetail it self was loose and required shims, and the sight just sits on plastic. If I was gonna do it again, Id get it milled.

Nearsighted or farsighted? I can see well close up but at a distance there’s slight bluriness. Hasn’t hindered me too much with iron sights on a handgun as the front sight post is crystal clear and target slightly blurry as it should be and I don’t shoot with my prescription glasses on because if this. I have a shadow 2 optic and will be fitting the optic soon, but then I’m guessing I’ll need to shoot with my single prescription glasses on which reverses the clarity to clear at distance, slightly blurry close in.

Getting old is a pain in the rear.

I’m in my 50’s and can’t see well at all. What really helped my shooting was to get single vision Rx safety glasses that are set to focus on the front sight post. I don’t care about blurry targets and not seeing bullet holes, since I’m focused on the sight picture and calling my shots.

I have used my regular driving/everyday Rx when shooting, and I really sucked at a match. Lol!

I did the same. Measured distance from eyes to front sight and had the Optometrist do a single vision Rx in a sporting/safety frame.

My normal Rx are progressives (basically trifocals) which suck at iron sighted shooting sports.

I am in my 40's and I need reading glasses. I never realized for some ti.e but my groups were opening up.and I was having headaches after shooting. I got a set of Crossbow Supressor shooting glasses and a Rx insert that was set to focus on tje front sight. Headaches went away and my groups shrunk.

I also have both a Shadow and a Shadowline. Tje Shadow has adjustable sights and the Shadowline as a Vortex 3moa Venom with what I think is a Henning mount (bought it mounted). The gent that had it before had been competing with it with good results. I cannot wear my Rx shooting glasses as the dot goes all wonky, but works fine with my normal shooting glasses for my scoped rifles. I fired 4 shots from the thing at 10 meters standing and started to swear as I could not find the group. One shooting buddy pointed oit there was a group, it just was the size of a 40 cal hole if you looked closely :).
