CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow

I've got 10 other shooters in my weekly class with them too, and a bunch of the other levels of guns too. It just depended on what stores got, some got all of them and people could pick, others got one particular style and that's it. The info was pretty badly distributed ahead of time to say the least.
I'm certainly not trying to rub it in, my backup guns are regular Shadows, not even Shadowlines. The gun I took a number of 2nds at the Nationals with is a total off the shelf normal Shadow, and I should have won with it honestly.
 
Slavex since you have connections, can you give CZ factory a decent kick in the rear and have them produce some of these new fangled special Shadows? Mines been on order for months now.
 
I wish I had that kind of connections. The Skorpion SMG is taking up a lot of their production time. So pistols are. OK a priority for them.

Was just in Eagle Hunting Supplies in Richmond today and saw one CZ SP01 Shadow Canadian with fiber optic front/plain black back sights @ $1,499 and one with fiber optic front and fiber optic back sights @ $1,799

I'm pretty happy with the trigger on my regular Shadow, although the thin aluminum grips may be nice.

Doesn't seem like Ontario got any of the higher end ones.
 
Question:
I'm guessing the CZ 75 SP-01 "Shadow line" i got from the local online-only retailer is between the SP-01 and the true Shadow, in build/finish quality?
Also, I'm guessing the 3 Canadian Editions start slightly higher than the Shadow?

With the exception of the weird hammer the Shadowline comes with, I'd consider it a higher level gun that a regular Shadow. It has most of the features people add themselves.
 
So there are black SP-01 Canadian edition Shadows out there that do not have the hand fit slide/frame? What a gong show sorting this all out....especially for a new guy to CZ pistols. How can you tell if the black Canadian edition Shadow has the hand fit frame/slide...just by it having rear fibre optic sights????
 
My conclusion is that there is no definitive way to know. If this was done properly by CZ there would be unique model names on a catalog page somewhere that showed the features of each unique model.
 
You can throw another variable into the Shadowmate quandary, chromed barrel (or did I mention that already) and possibly PreB disconnectors.
 
ive got the CZ 75 Shadow Line.
compared it to a SP-01 and besides the obvious frame difference (rail vs no rail) and the line has the aluminum grips (which i like better) the barrel profile on the sp-01 is thicker, different slide release, safety and hammer.
but the Shadow line trigger is much nicer than the standard SP-01 right out of the box.
i believe the standard SP-01 comes with 3 mags, the Line comes with 2.

ill be grabbing a SP 01 Line eventually...and i think CZ made 3 different "line" models for 2013.
 
I just bought a CZ75 SP-01 shadowmate canadian edition about 6 weeks ago. It has the front and rear FO sights and the flush safety. It is the blued version. According to the gun dealer he said the silver models did not have the match barrel??? Anyway I bought the black, but was hunting so much I have not shot it yet. It came with three mags and a test target. The slide to the frame has absolutely no slop at all. Really looking forward to shooting it!!! My next gun is the tactical sport in 40 cal...
 
I have both an SP-01 Shadow 9mm and a tac sport .40. I absolutely love both guns, but they are very different beasts. If your hand fits a Shadow, as most do, you will likely feel that a tac sport is way too big. the grip is a lot longer, like front to back. I have big hands and with some practice, it now feels normal.

If you still have accuracy issues with a shadow or especially with a tac sport. it's you, not the gun. Most sundays I have them at the range in Picton Ontario. Feel free to stop by and blast away. that's about 2 hours from Toronto.
 
Brant shooting sports (sponsor at top of page) has them....I think in stock. I believe you can buy a package that includes the shadow, holster & mag pouches...basically all ready for IPSC action.
 
There's a used Shadow on EE at this very moment. I just picked up one on EE a couple of nights ago from a fellow BCer. $675 with only 250 rounds through it. I'm one happy man. Pays to be scanning EE nightly and regularly.
