I just got my Shadow back from getting milled. So technically now my Shadow is a Optic Ready pistol. My Vortex Venom sits .130" lower than the top of the slide. Where my Springer Precision dovetail mount sat .130 above the slide.

I can put the rear sight back on via a custom plate made. Now people are going to think I have a Shadow 2, because not many have a milled S1. Will be ordering a taller front sight to be noticeable in the optic window, but be co wittness.

Very nice, how much was it total including the iron sight plate, if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks, No problem,

400. That included the slide milled, adapter plate, rear sight plate, having the 2 plates cerakoted and return shipping.

Rear sight plate was a extra 100$, so be 300.if you don't want that.

He started July 15, and was done August 4th.

Not sure if he can do SP01 Tacticals with the FPB.

Sweeeet!
Try some layers of tape or something like that to see how tall the FSP should be. Mine is 7.0 or 7.5mm and it also worked with my elevation adjustable RSP, (before the dovetail was milled off), which you may want to buy so you can have both irons and a cowitnessed FSP. :)

Enjoy!

Very nicely done!

I have always hoped for CZ to release a Shadow SP01 OR, but they probably think it will cannibalize Shadow 2 OR sales.

Personally I think the Shadow SP01 and Shadow 2 attract different buyers, and not only because of the price difference. Having handled both before buying my Shadow SP01, I could never get the Shadow 2 to feel as good in my hands as the original Shadow.

Looks sweet! Have been toying with the idea of getting my shadow milled. Did he cerakote the slide after milling too? Are you able to pick which footprint is on the adapter plate?

Thanks Jimbo14 for your contact.

Just saw this. Is the plate wider than the frame? There seems to be some shadow ( no pun intended) under the plate bottom on the 2nd pic...just curious.

Yes, the plate is the same width as the optic, like every optic mount out there. Even my Springer Precsion mount was wider than the slide, as well the Luepold.

Make sense: the Holosun 407/507C is a about 1mm wider than 407/507K. I intend to go with 407K for its compact size. Will report back the result.

Hmmmmm….. $75.00 for a custom engineered plate that fits in the SP01 dovetail or $400.00 for the job described? Or, just buy the optics-ready OEM S2? Hmmmmm……..

I've had an S2 OR for a long while now for IPSC matches. Sometimes I wonder what a lighter S1 OR will feel like, especially on transitioning and target acquiring. Adapter plate does feel too tall and kinda awkward with body indexing. Not so much about co-witnessing.

Outstanding work. I can see Mr.Wu business getting a boost because of this post. I think a 5 percent kickback for you is in order. Thanks again for sharing.

He did have a Infinity slide sitting next to my CZ slide, when he sent me some progress photos. So people trust his work.

I already had a SP01, spare parts, mags etc, so upgrading my S1 was a no brainer. Plus I really don't like the look of the S2.

lack of co witness was an issue I had at the PPC provincials, it was raining hard and the 1 handed stage, took more time to acquire the target, that it was more point and shoot. I think I'm in talks with him, about making a new plate with a rear sight notch. I still need to get a taller front sight, as it isn't even in the sight window.

It uses Shadow 2 optic plates. As long as you drill a new hole for the extractor pin, and the counter sink holes re done to accommodate the larger 6-40 screws.
