I'm new to handguns & am seriously considering the SP-01 steel. And now I am learning about polymer models .
My purpose for the gun is target shooting only.
Seeking opinions on why 1 versus the other?
thanks

Go with the flow and buy a shadow 2 great gun most bang for the buck and be done with it you will end up with that gun eventually anyway.. My two cents.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Shadow (either SP-01 or a Shadow 2).

I shot 20 rounds through a SP-01 Shadow for my club safety class/Bill 9 test, and I bought a Shadow 2 as my first handgun.

Both are great.

Have you been able to out shoot a Shadow 1?

Depends on how you look at it both are good guns but the ergonomics and features of the Shadow 2 make for a superior competition gun and that's a fact . Yes some people can out shoot a gun

Shadow 1 or go with the 2 if budget allows. I’ve tried the poly guns over and over but can’t do it. lol. Never handled one yet with a nice trigger.

X3 or more

I bought shadow 1 it nice, shot 2 mags from a shadow 2 and put 20 rounds inside a quarter at 25m.... I want a shadow 2 now. My #1 does nothing close to that type of grouping.

Many guys can't do that group with a scoped .22 rifle. Good on you!

Of course, that kind of accuracy says as much about the pistol as the shooter and the ammo.

Agreed. I bought the SP-01 regretted not going with the Shadow 2. I'm just waiting for the optic ready Shadow 2 to come out now. I've done the same thing with a few other guns, bought the lower end or cheaper model thinking I'd save some money then a few months later buy the higher end model. I now have and A squad and a B squad.

If i were you i would definitely go with a Shadow. I recently bought my first pistol (Shadow SP01) i really wanted to like the Shadow 2 better but due to my hand size(small) the Shadow 1 just felt better in hand. If your hand fits the Shadow 2 definitely go for it the trigger is definitely better both single action and double. Ive never heard of anybody regretting the Shadow 2 or 1 for that matter but in my opinion the 2 is definitely worth the extra 300-400$

20 rounds of 9MM inside of a quarter at 25 meters. Outstanding! What ammo were you using? Factory or reload? That is quite a feat.

Take Care
