I have thus far resisted the CZ 75, but I think one with a SA only trigger might be interesting. Which SA model would you pick, and why?

Thanks in advance for your help!

What are you going to be using it for? Plinking, PPC, IPSC, etc? Are you looking at the 9mm or the 40?

I have shot 2 of the 9mm versions. For plinking and PPC the regular 9mm is fantastic. I would not use it for IPSC since it would put you into standard minor.

As for the reg vs orange question, I am yet to shoot a CZ and think to myself "I wish the extra hundreds of dollars were spent on this gun."

I think they are both really nice firearms a couple things to help you decide is the orange version won't fit in the normal tactical sport holster. I think if you took the thumb rest off it might fit so if you want a holster for your orange version it will be harder to find. Another thing in my opinion the orange one looks better but it's quite a bit more money. I ended up buying the orange version mostly beacuase of the looks and I don't regret my decision.

I haven't used the SA trigger ones, but I did have a CZ75 SP-01 Tactical 40. I liked the idea of the decocker, but I really disliked the trigger. I have shot a P-07 and a 75 Canadian edition and both had awesome triggers. The trigger on my tactical had a LOT of creep and I couldn't get over that. I'm not talking about the double action pull - even in SA, the creep between the end of take-up - and the bang was the worst I have experienced in any handgun. Two gunsmiths told me it was the nature of the beast and I'd have to live with it.

I guess what I'm saying is, see if you can try before you buy. In my case it didn't need to be on the range. You could feel the creep just dry firing it.

Rob!

The CZ TS is great and my favourite CZ platform (haven't tried the Shadow 2). I've shot both and had a TS Orange in 9mm. Really liked it just too many other 9mm target guns to justify keeping it. You can't go wrong with either version. Depends what features you want. If you like the aluminum grips, magwell etc on the Orange and the extra 700-800 isn't an issue, go for it. If you don't care about those extras, go for the regular version and save some money. The Oranges have been tuned but I did not recall a huge difference. Perhaps it is more evident to others with extensive experience shooting both. For a target gun, the the regular TS is excellent value for money. You can save a lot if you find one used.

I have both in 40. Both are great guns. For just range use I would go with the regular TS. Accurate and a pretty good trigger. The orange is my IPSC gun very accurate and the trigger is one of the best I have ever used. Ever close to my high end bullseye 22 Walther's. Just wished they would supply the 40 cal in all steel mags rather than half metal/plastic. They work ok but I do not like the look. There are all steel 17 round mags from the states but I cannot find a US supplier who will pin them to 10.5 and ship them to Canada.

Thanks for the info. I am a SIG fan at heart, so I may just hold out for the NH P210 Legend in lieu of the CZ😬. Decisions, decisions...

I could be wrong but wasn't the cz85 variant the only sa trigger? And if you have the funds for a p210... get one...it's on my hit list when I sell a kidney.....truly a great pistol

The US version of the P210(while it won't make the purists happy) is supposed to be coming in at a more affordable price point.

Yes and yes! Hard to go wrong. I really like the TS 9mm I bought new. Put a bunch of rounds through it, upgraded a bunch of parts, and liked it the whole time.

The Orange is a factory TS with all the bells and whistles, all the CZ aftermarket parts. Everything about it is a little better.

I have my regular TS in the EE now because the Orange replaced it.

I think both are some of the best target / competition semi-auto SA guns money can buy. Anything comparable is a 2011 and costs 3x as much.

I'm looking forward to seeing a review. I am not jumping to conclusions just because it is coming out of the US and not Switzerland. It is a departure from the original design, but could still be a good target pistol.

I have faith it will be good. I've had good luck with German and US Sigs, so I won't have any concerns about buying a US P210. I am also hoping we will see the rumored US X Fives come out of Shot Show 2017.

That's news to me...will look out for reviews...if it has the quality, looks and a decent price point I might just look at one....but I've been waiting soooooo long for the oe...

First, because I love 1911s I really wanted a SAO CZ so I bought a low mileage CZ 75 TS in 9mm. Liked it so much I bought another as a back up. Trigger is under 2 pounds, haven't had an FTF or FTE yet after 4 months of use. It's all steel so nice & hefty & controls recoil wonderfully. I averaged 470/480 in PPC Service this year using this gun & that's with 68 year old eyes & reflexes. I would love to get the Orange but considering I paid the same money for two upgraded TS models that it would cost me for one Orange I have a hard time justifying the cost. However, if I can just win the lottery that Orange will be mine too.
