CZ 75 vs CZ 75B vs CZ 85

Any difference in frame size?

Saw a 75B at the GS today that appeared to be smaller than my 85 Combat? Didn't get a chance to handle it.

Yes can be. The original 75 Pre B had some differences including the mag well. The 75 Shadowline has a different beavertail from the 75 B and some 75B`s have the newer Beavertail as well.

The SP-01 and the SP-01 Shadow have slightly different frames as well.

Yes, pre-B's had slightly smaller mags and mag wells until 1982 (85's mags shouldn't fit).
82-84 productions are considered by some as transition models with 85-ish frames, but don't always accept 85's mags.
It is starting to matter as European police forces are selling their 75's.

My since sold 1988 85 Combat had the smaller mag well. Judicious use of a Dremel solved the issue. While functionally the same, I like the look of the New Edition and 75 Shadowline frames with the upswell beavertail. The felt grip for me was the same as my 85 Combat. My experience has been the guns are bullet proof and are crazy accurate and reliable. If a shooter is into the games then buying a Pre B would not be my choice but for plinking at the range the offer excellent value when they come up.
