CZ 75B opinions

You guys are luckier than me. I have a pre-b CZ5. It was innacurate when I bought it, wouldn't keep 10 rounds on standard centre patch target @25Yds. bench rest. I had it re-barreled by Dark with a newer series barrel. Now it will (just) keep 10 rounds on paper. I sent it back, thought the barrel was fitted too loosly as I could move the muzzle aroung with my finger with action locked up, he said it was OK, must be my ammo. I am using 115Gr. lead bullet reloads with Hodgen Universal Clays powder, but have purchased Titegroup to try, but am not optimistic. It doesn't shoot any better with new ammo. I have heard some people say they have better results with heavier bullets, but am ready to try anything at this point.

Put the old barrel back into your Pre B and sell it. Why? Pre B CZ75s are collectible and it should bring you enough to buy a very accurate pistol. Regards, Richard:D

Yes I heard many time the pre-B like 147 gr with slower burn rate powder. I have used 124 gr with titegroup and found titegroup is not a good 9mm powder. I use Win super field now, same dirty as titegroup and univerisal but very accurate.

Well if that is true, I have a minty pre-B CZ85 that may be looking for a new home.

Well I've decided I want one. I have my local gun store looking for me. I'm pricing out the 85 combat and the 75B stainless. My heart is set on the stainless. I just prefer it over blued. I've also put in a request at guns n things about the stainless model. We'll see.

The only reason I'm considering the combat is due to the adjustable sights.
I'm not sure they're worth 100 extra but... they are nice.

Well, I contacted guns n things a few days ago by email. They advised me that the stainless one would be in on the May shipment. The only concern for me is the price.

Stainless Steel New *C$865.00 (coming soon) They've also updated their web site with this.

Now for the base model 75b the American suggested price on the CZ web site is $529. $629 is the price at the above store. That's resonable to me (exchange importing costs etc). Now the American price for the stainless is $629. I expected to pay about $730 to 750 for it. Seems reasonable. At 865 I can get a browning hipower for that price. A second hand stainless sig p226 etc. Suddenly I have a lot of things to think about.

Also I have my local gun shop looking into prices. So we'll see.

My first pistol. I really like it, the ergonomics aren't quite as good as a .45, but it's been reliable, accurate, and easy to strip/clean. SA/DA... the only thing was finding a good holster for it, especially for PPC where a level 2 is needed.
