Just picked up my CZ-75B last night and I'm just wondering about the grips. It came with the plastic grips with the groove cut out on the top kinda like a Browning but almost every picture I've seen has the regular full checkered grips. Is my gun older or something?

The date of your gun is either on the slide with two numbers as in 08 or in the groove by the extractor with a similar two digit marking.

I would find someone who's replaced their grips on their SP-01 shadow to some high speed competition grips and put their old rubber ones on your 75... that's what I did and it worked great. Failing that you can buy a set of uncle mike's rubber grips for pretty cheap.

OK, so my gun is an 09...why the different grips? all the pics on the CZ site and everywhere like such as on the google, show the full checkered grips...oh well...

Well you aren't missing much in any event. I agree with Hammerhead. The SP-01 or Shadow rubber grips are quite nice and will fit your 75B. Put an ad in the EE section. I am sure you can get a set for cheap.

My 75B is only a year old and I bought some thin wood grips from
h ttp://www.marschalgrips.com/. They are in Hungery so it took 9 weeks for me get them but the grips were cheap and I would not hesitate to say second to none in craftsmanship. Mine are wattle with a red stain made thin.

My 75B two-tone came with different grips than my 75B blued, and my Shadow came with the rubber ones. I prefer the aluminum ones over them all though as it is easier to reach the mag release.

pics please?

Ok sorry for taking so long but I was away for a week. This is my gun. Now I can't take a good picture if my life depended on it and my wife's camera is kick ass. She just laughs at me :p

The grips are as I said from Marschal. The wood is wattle stained red. If you go the web page there are lots of different woods for different tastes. I have also installed a 13# mainspring and plan to do a little more polishing of the trigger group in the future. It shoots really well even in the hands of an amateur newbie like me.

If the original poster pays postage I'll give him the rubber grips off my Shadow. What's that line, "Pay it forward" or whatever?
