CZ 75b Sp01 Shadow

Totally unnecessary for my lifestyle but I wish I'd picked one of these up when they were more available

after seeing the cz pumpkin and the shadow canadian silver i thought there was nothing else they could do to ruin the gun .. low and behold iwas wrong ... REALLY DO YOU NEED A GOD DAMN BAYONET ON A PISTOL ?????

LOL @ Can-down.

Anyway, seriously, I think the only thing I can do for my new-to-me SP-01 is some individualized grips. There are many out there. Mostly wood.

A friend of mine just bought a Shadow. Today I tested it with a number of different laods to see what it liked best.

It was a strange test. I rate groups as VVG, VG. G, F and P.

The test was the DRG lead 135 RN bullet and TiteGroup powder. Federal primers.

I loaded 2.6 to 3.8 gr, in 0.2 gr increments.

All were VG or better. 3.4 was VVG.

I have never seen such uniform results before. This pistol rocks!

This pistol performs with every ammo I've tried in it...from 115 gr to 147 gr....lead round nose...full jacketed ...factory or handloads.
The only problems were with out of spec reloads and that would happen with any pistol.

To the OP:
Swap out the stock 18lb mainspring for a CZ 13lb spring. This will make an enormous improvement to an already good trigger. You can even cut a coil off the 13# spring and reduce the pull weight further. I wouldn't go much further than that, though.

I reload for mine: Berry's 124gr RN over 4.3gr W231. OAL is rather short: 1.087

Awesome suggestions and many thanks!

One thing I definitely have to change is the magazine. Notice in the above pic by 'Snowboy', the bottom of the magazine extends the handle abut 3/4 inch. I would like to find a magazine replacement that sits flush with the handle. I hope this is an option...
