CZ 75BD vs Sig 226?

go with the CZ, just as good a gun but costs less which means more $$ for ammo, ive put over 3500 rounds through my cz this year and the only time theres been a ftf has been my fault.

Have you handled both? I like the Sigs grip better, but there are now a lot of options to change the CZ grips. If price is a consideration, the factory refurb Sigs seem to be a pretty good value. My 226 has been extremely reliable whereas I have seen many CZ's have issues.

Sigs grip feels worse than a Glock to me! If you don't have large hands you may not like it. Also the placement of the slide release bothers me.

I have a CZ 75 and it feels much better in my hand!

I got the nickel finish, and it is far ###ier than that basic black sig for less money.

CZ is a fine gun, so is the 226. Both have huge groups of fans and are equally good at what they do. I prefer the CZ's myself, but try both and decide for yourself. The only thing that might make me choose a CZ over a 226 might be that the 226 has an aluminium alloy frame verses the CZ's all steel construction.

I really dont know what all the hype is over sig.

The high bore axis makes them feel snappier than even my poly framed glock!

The finish is garbage in my opinion, and show scratches very easily.

They are reliable for sure, but there are many others that fit that bill!

I have had a number of Sig 226's over the years and it's the gun I use in competition the most. I also have one of the earliest CZ75's customized. Both the CZ75 and Sig P226 are great guns and are very reliable. I prefer the double action trigger of the CZ and the single action trigger of the Sig :) If money is not the primary criterion between the two, I suggest the Sig if it feels good in your hand. It's a bit more reliable with handloads than the CZ and more accurate, more so with 124 gr bullets. In any case, you cannot go wrong with either one, what fits your hand and grip style the nest.

I too have both and to me there is no better feeling gun in the hand then the CZ. Feels perfect to me. I find the Sig to be a little too thick as I don't have big hands.

But seriously, just bite the proverbial bullet and pony up for the SIG as long as you have man hands. You won't regret it.

In order:

-I've yet to see one case where a CZ bests a SIG, except when budget is the consideration.

-If the slide catch bugs you, get your damn thumb off of it. You shouldn't be using it anyways. If you don't want a black one, get a nickel or a stainless one.

-If you don't want an alloy frame, get a stainless one.

-If the "high bore axis" (I LOOOOVE that phrase, I can tell exactly who's going to use it!) bothers you, then practice is your friend. Recoil is a part of life. I don't know what to say about the finish concern, because I plain don't agree, but if you're afraid of scratches, then back to the stainless option! (Or just leave it in the box to admire.)

But... If one fits your hand better than the other, that should make the decision for you. The rest of these reasons are, IMO, bs.

I have a stainless 75B and a P226 :)

both are good guns and feel great in my hand. I'd go with the one you can afford, which ever fits you better and what you think looks better.

One good thing is you are not making a wrong decision by buying either. They are both great guns. On one the slide rides inside the frame making it (theoretically) more accurate....the CZ. I can't grip a CZ 75 so that it points right, the muzzle points low right and I have to fiddle with it to get the front post in view, whereas the sig just naturally points to the target so I shoot the p226 much better than the CZ so I prefer the Sig. both have great support. both are used a lot in the real world, both are good metal guns, both typically don't have feeding issues once broken in and will eat almost any ammo. Both are easy to clean. Both are highly regarded by their owners. It simply comes down to which one do you point more naturally. won't go wrong with either.
