CZ-858-2 p0rn :)

I wanted something very close to an AK aswell considering it is the forbidden fruit here. That being the AK is a tried and true battle rifle, that being said the CZ is NO slacker in the reliability, accuracy, user friendly department either.

Here is half of my family, some others are still being made.

Congrats bfiles, great looking stuff.

I got wOoDy, looking at those rifles. ;)

Especially like one in the middle with 'tiger' striped wood.

I have the same issue with the nose to the point where I am getting really annoyed. Where pray tell did you get the AK buttpad, and could you please post a picture of it? It may just prevent me from selling a perfectly good 858....

They can be found at dozens of places online, and fit the CZ-858-folder quite nicely.

And it looks not scary. So much not scary that is not restricted. 7.62 rounds coming from this rifle are much less dangerous than the ones are coming from an AK. Now I understand it. f**king liberal idiots....:ar15::ar15::ar15::ar15:

I was thinking of putting on the front left hand grip "I'm Scary Looking" and on the right "I'm Menacing Looking". Maybe Wendy will want to ban my CZ if i put that on it. Sharks teeth at the front might be a nice touch to add scaryness to my cz.

How do you get the wood areound the metal frame on the top foregrip? I'd love to make new furnature for mine. I have access to some elm wood, well aged. Done up it looks real nice. But I can't see how to get the wood into that top frame. I looks all spot welded.

18.6" qualifies it for non-restricted status. Nothing better than running around the bush with an assault rifle

I know that :) I was wondering why it was produced in general. Seems not too very practical for a troops to cary long barrel assault rifle. 15.5" suits it more, but what 18" was designed for?

It wasn't produced in an over 18.6 inch length for general military use. These are newly manufactured barrels to, as was mentioned, qualify the firearm for non restricted status. True VZ-58 barrels are chrome lined, while these are not.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the Czech military did make very few with barrel lengths of 490mm. Marstar imported some of their CZH-2003 models with these barrels and sold them as the VZ-58L model, though they are few and far between. As far as I know, these are the only non restricted VZ-58 that came from the manufacturer with chrome lined barrels.

So, they've made specially to comply Canadian laws???

Yep. The semi auto only receivers are newly manufactured as well, since the receivers from the military issue VZ-58 rifles would be unimportable as either full auto or converted auto receivers.

kind of, the newly mfr'd semi only reciever complies with Canadian Law, the 18.6" barrel lets anyone with a PAL buy one and use it just the same as a hunting rifle. The non-restricted model probably accounts for most of its sales. I probably wouldnt buy a restricted model simply because I prefer to shoot in the bush, bring it with me hiking and quadding and not have to worry about any BS rules regarding its use. Its a rifle ffs, no rifle needs more attention to safety than another.
