cz 858-2

well i ordered a standard folding stock so i really just need the grip and guard
i dunno know if this stuff grow on me
how long have you had yours?

I just cannot envision my VZ without its original issued stocks.
Since NEA and others are going full-tilt furnishing us with viable optical mounting options, I'm going to make myself an adjustable cheekrest one made from two chopped-up "beaver barf" stocks.
This to keep the current issued look and allow correct cheekrest with the actual rash of optical aiming devices.

i love everything about it except the cheap chip board furniture
everything else about this firearm is quality
just think it looks much nicer with real hard wood

I answered you in another of your 3 (or maybe you have more) threads of the same subject

member kevinm here has created an ak-47 like wood furniture and he is now a dealer, the thread is in the section

sorry charles

doesnt look like he has actually started making them yet unless thats changed
i dont want to wait for months to get these items
there are wood kits out there straight from cz factory
sorry about the 3 threads im new here and was not sure where to post but thanks for your help anyway

It's not cheap! it is brilliant and practical.
You can turn out thousands of them in a few days by reusing wood scraps mixed with resin. It is a lot better than bakelite and has no sensitivity to temperature, humidity and many current issue chemicals! it only does what it was designed for.
Mind you, it is a military design and it shows. Blushing Virgin pink stocks have no place on it.

You are using corrosive ammo on the gun. I end up pouring hot water through the barrel and over so it runs over everything the burnt gases would have touched.

Blow it out with air, wipe it down, re-oil.

Its been immune to anything I've hit it with so far (including varsol).

While it maynot look as good - I prefer the "BEAVER BARF" for ease of maintenance - which is what it was designed to do.

The VZ-58 is one of the best assault rifles of its epoch ever fielded, period.
In Warsaw Pact field trials it was found superior in many points to the AK but one has to consider the 13 year span between the concepts. Czech had time to fully ponder its design and they wanted to show the soviets a trick ot two of their own, not being particularly in love with them.
Some want to disguise theirs with AK style wood and slant muzzle brakes . well, to each his own but why bastardize a winning design?
Perfect it, yes but not denature it.
Mind you, I would be scared s*itless if someone was potting at me with one within 300 meters; that little rifle is that accurate.

There were pictures of someone on this forum making AK style wood kit for CZ858, it looked realy nice. Try to look through posts you will find it, he was saying that he will make several of them.

If you need it fast there is Czech site that sales them and will send them to Canada
w w w.sa58.cz try it it is in Czech but press Sa 58 it will take you to all accessories for CZ858 or SA58 Czech name for it. Czech for buttstock is pazba press it, forarm is predazba. They had two wooden sets of wooden ferniture for CZ858

I've had mine for at least 10,000 rounds. I know one I sold at 5000 that has had another 50,000 through it with only two operator induced FTF's.

I fired off about 300 rounds, and purposely put it in the safe dirty to see what happened.

3 months later I took it out and cleaned it. Allot o rust, a pit mark here and there, but she still groups exactly the same.

These rifles are tough as nails.
