CZ 858 accuracy?

If you will be shooting corrosive ammo... iron sites only..... as cleaning each time means removing all the rails for optics. This in turn means re-zeroing everytime. BIG PITA
If you will be using non-corrosive... consider do-dads with rails as you will not HAVE to clean everytime...
The 858 is a great gun and probably 4" with surplus... I would guess 2" with good ammo.
Really ask yourself, what you want to shoot with it and will you need optics... I personally DO NOT see this gun as optics friendly despite all the different rail options.
She is in my opinion an iron sites gun that requires alot of cleaning and will get you consistently 4" - due to all the cleaning - removing parts all the time - rails are consistently moving which sucks for optics.....
Its an affordable, dependable, slender, high maintenance, iron site, plinker.... dont kid yourself...

The CZ-858 in non-restricted form is a great modern day bush gun with S+B ammo. If you don't want to take an Enfield bolt or Marlin lever in the bush and you want to have something a little more modern that is semi-auto, the CZ is the way to go. I used my non-bubba'ed CZ with a 5 round mag with S+B ammo this season for bush pushing for deer with no problems. Small, compact, easy to carry, light, and the 7.62X39mm in soft point is enough to take down a deer at under 50m (ie. pushing the bush and sneaking up on one).
See, what you have to do to keep the Anti's and Lieberals at bay is to show them that a modern day tactical rifle like a CZ-858 has a practical use in hunting. I also plan to go rabbit hunting with mine this year too.

mine is very accurate ( maybe im just used to the SKS ), I can ring a 18" gong @ 200 yds with open sites every time. I bbl mounted a holo site & ill print some paper groups & let u know. I would expect 3-4" @ 100 yds. Im also using the cheapest ammo i can find, czk corrosive, but it is a czk gun!
More accurate than I am - mine performed about the same as chopper 1's did, when someone else was shooting it
If you side mounted a scope then it should be ok for cleaning no? I sold mine to raise cash for a once in a decade deal, and now am planning to buy another one and probably scope it.

3-4" at 100 yards off the bench. I hit a 14" gong 8/10 times shooting off-hand at 200 yards. I agree with previous posts regarding mounting optics on this rifle. Currently it is a P.I.T.A.
I am on a waiting list for a rear peep sight, and we shall see if I can tighten up those groups any

I get 4-5" with corrosive @ 100 yards, 2.5-3" with factory SP, handloads i'd expect 1.5-2" maybe even better. Not shabby for a $650 surplus semi auto.
My #1 gun, NR, light, shoulders awesome, points easy,enough knock down for med game to 200yards, plus cheap jacketed ammo for the range...

I get 3-4" average groupings with surplus crate ammo with my buddies 858 w/folding stock.
Bearing in mind that gun was freaking roasting by the time I got my hands on it, I'm very impressed with it!
Cant wait to compare it to what I have on the way hehe.

I have experienced this to be true. Mine is more accurate that I am capable with out to 200 yards. I usually use Norinco or Wolf ammo and the 858 hits anything I am aiming at. My best is a running coyote at 85 yards. Open sights. With my holosight, I would expect results to be even better.
Just talking about this is driving me nuts. I am getting up early tomorrow and going to the range with my CZ858 and a couple hundred rounds of stress relief. I plan on shooting a few groups in the 2" range at least - the rest are going to be at a high rate of speed with emphasis on fun! If I could afford to buy another 858 right now, I would. Also, I have never experienced the gremlin (touch wood).
