cz 858 barrel life

Yes, you can expect that. Fast shooting is not very good for the barrel's throat but, given the 5 shot magazine limitation, one has to try very hard to attain the rates of fire needed to heat the barrels to the temperatures where erosion accelerates.

This is what I was trying to ascertain from my post, "how many rounds are down your cz/vz". So far, the responses have indicated that forum members have put 3500+ rounds down it. Although they may have 10,000 but I did not have that option on the poll. I doubt any of us have reached that level yet.... but you never know.
 
I'm pretty close to that on this one (~8000-9000rnds)... No issues, she's been a trooper. One of the guys here has a vid of me pulling mine out of a swamp, giving it a shake and dumping a mag. I had ONE stoppage after 8000rnds (stovepipe) and that was because It had been torture tested all day. A little 'wash' in the mire and she was rocking and rolling again.

I've yet to experience any issues with the barrel life though, and I've had it smoking many times.
