I splurged and bought the "Burris Picatinny Protector" with the FastFire... it replaces the base with another identical base + a piece of folded aluminium.

Can be seen here:

I checked. 'A' will fit, but requires the front sight to be removed. It is one piece and the front sight tower is too tall. However, it would allow for a close fit and easy removal of the top guard for cleaning.

Just got back from holiday.
Got my package in the mail and 'A' doesn't fit (barrel area is too loose) Grrrrrrrr~!

So now I need to find (or make) some new spacers to make it fit.

Oops. It looked like it would, but I admit I did not take off the sight (note pictures) to be 100% sure. I was looking more on how it would mate with the gas block and assumed the two supplied collars would do the rest. But the inside collar could be made out of copper/steel pipe and a dremel. If you tell me the outside diameter I will go see what materials are out there.

Well, I am using cardboard to fill the space with the stock spacers for now... I also chopped off some of the rail for a closer (better) fit.

I think it will be "slick", providing I can clamp it to the barrel properly - of course the irons are perfectly centered through this setup.

Nice Setup

But - be careful of fried batteries from the heat of the barrel and the blooming dot on the red dot - tape over the sensor can help-

Already do the tape trick (since I had LASIK, all LED's bloom to me)
I don't think it will get that hot enough to damage the battery.

That would have looked great up at tonight's Sporting Rifle get together. :p
