A friend of mine had a cz 858 and I got to fire it the other day ...Great gun and all but his irons were not sighted in and we shot all day (no jams) but we didn't hit anything nor could we get it sighted in ...( no tools ) ... and this is straight out of the box gun ...What I want to know is when this gun is sighted in either by irons or with a NEA Hand-guard with a red dot what type of accuracy can the Rifle achieve...any accuracy reports?

My 858 was very accurate first time i shot it, I am not sure why you guys couldn't hit anything, what was your distance to your target?
CZ 858 are accurate guns.

Within 20 rounds of adjusting, out of the box my CZ-858 was consistantly hitting apple sized targets with open sights @100 yards, by just leaning against a table. Thats with crappy old surplus ammo.

Maybe you guys were'nt aiming properly, or there was something loose, because its not normal for a CZ-858 to be less accurate than something like a SKS. Your sights could be just really far off, out of whack from shipping or something. Start out close @about 25-50 yards and begin sighting in from there, and gradually move back. If its something very inconsistent than something might be loose.

X2 on the "Sighted in, very accurate"
Was at the range with mine shooting close range.
A range member said that his SKS can hit the 400 yd plates. BS I thought. But after the 4th shot (I thought there would be more bullet drop and held too high) I tagged it.
wow.

I start all my rifles close (25m) then work my way out as I learn the trigger, sites, holding etc. Might be redundant to do it over and over with each rifle, but it can't hurt.
Had my cz out and burned through quite a few rounds at 25, shoots a little high with the base (closest to me) of the sight riser at the universal setting, but dead on left and right. sights shouldn't need any adjustment.
What kind of stock does it have? I find the folding stock position puts me awfully low, and it can be hard to get a good weld on it.

My experience puts it around 4 MOA...but that is 4 REAL MOA, not 4 e-MOA. 4 REAL MOA works out to about 1.5 e-MOA, which is how most guys measure their rifles.

The only method I can think of which is even more precise is GSBS MOA, gun store bull#### MOA. In GSBS MOA the 858 is a 5 shots, 1 hole rifle.

Mine shot great out of the box. With irons the first time I tried it on paper it really surprised me. I didn't measure the group, but it was tight. With a red-dot on it now, I seem to do a bit better.

this guy? at the range, a couple of bays down from me? Clanging the 1/2 gas cylinder at 200 with irons, all the time. So that would be a 8" wide by 20" tall piece of cylindrical steel?

Good enough for starters, I'd say!

Well is there anyone in ontario That can talk all the work out of it for me ...SIGHT in build set up the whole works I dont mind forking out the $$$ aslong as I get a finished rifle

No offense, but you need to learn to sight your own rifle in. Getting someone else to do it won't benefit you in the long term.

Google it or search around CGN, get a hammer and brass punch (or a proper sight too), and sight it in. It's not difficult.
