Hey guys,

Has anyone tried the cs-58/cz858 fiber optic sights on their cz-858? I have fiber optic sights on my versa-max, and find it is great for easy target acquisition. What are your opinions on them? They seem expensive at 100 bucks a pop, but seems like a worthwhile upgrade if they are good quality.
Zahal is currently out of stock, but hopefully they will have some stock soon, if you guys give good feedback.

Let me know what you all think!

Thanks in advance!!

I have them on all three of my 858s.
They are really good in getting your focus fast.
I personally find the green brighter than the red.

I was lucky enough to get the rear sight replaced by a rear sight with a peep loop hole as well.
They work even better with the peep hole, line up let the fibre colour, focus and squeeze, as easy as that.
I don't know if the rear peep sight is made anymore but it is worth asking if any are available on the EE. (equipment exchange board, seeing as how you only have four posts, you might want to ask to join the EE)

There are rear sights made where there is a fibre dot on either side of the 'V' notch.
Hopefully someone can chime in with an opinion.

I have a cz-858 tac2 with fiber optic sights. Mine has two green rods at the back, a red one up front. They work well, but the front sight is thicker than the stock one, so a 6 o'clock hold is wise for smaller targets, so you don't obscure it.

Rauch tactical used to make the rear peep that replaces the blade sight.....works well with the fiber optic front post.

Looks like they are still available,

Actually NEA made them for Rauch. If i remember correctly he never paid for them, which is why they ended up in a few other dealers hands.

Thanks for the responses guys! Glad to hear these are a worthwhile upgrade. Shame everyone seems to be sold out. Anyone have a source for these outside of sfrc and zahal?? GP tactical shows them, but it doesn't state if they are in stock or not. I have emailed them and will post up here if they have them if anyone else is interested..
I did try the EE, but I am more of a lurker then poster, so I was denied lol

The NEA sights are aluminum IIRC. I didn't find the red all that bright, it didn't give me any advantage over the factory post plus it was wider. The tritium was nice but they had problems with dim tritium. No rears were ever available so again no gain and wider than stock. A tritium set with peep would be ideal.

What we need is some tritium night sights for CZ/VZ's. that would be slick. Hmmm wonder if I can custom order something like that.

Nea was making them for a bit but the tritium only lasted for a few months. Not worth it for the price in my mind but if they were to get better luminescence made for the front and rear I will be buying several sets of them.

Just looked at mine still glowing.

Tritium has a lifespan of around 12 years. I believe NEA stopped making the front post and never made the rear was that there supply of quality Tritium ran out. I believe I heard this right from NEA. YMMV.

I prefer fiber optic to tritium for most of my sights. Tritium makes more sense to me for a defensive handgun....on a long gun for low light situations I'd rather have a flashlight mounted in a way that illuminates the fiber optic front sight in use.
I don't find the NEA front fiber optic sight to course at all.

I pull up the thread for ya and clarify things then.
Majority of them blow right from the get go and that why they stopped making them.

NEA stopped making them because of the quality of available tritium vials. Tritium is a pain to import from the US and there are not a lot of companies making tritium vials internationally. In the end the quality wasn't up to snuff and they dropped the supplier. I have one on my gun and it's sh!t the bed on me. I'll likely bore it out and slam in a piece of fiber.
