Well.

I installed this new forend on my 858.

Now, every few shots, my gas piston pops out the front, lifts a bit, thereby interrupting the action. By popping out the front, I mean the front (business end) portion of the gas piston comes "unseated" upon recoil. So, the gun will not cycle properly.

I am going to put my old forend back on. I was wondering if anyone had these issues.

Yes they were only paper wights and we sold them for around $20 vs $90 if they worked. If you can weld aluminium you will need to weld in small block to act as a piston support then it will work

We were not the only company selling them they are still few dealers who sale them for the full price and pretend that they don't work about piston issue.

At this year Shot Show in Las Vegas I talked with factory rep and told them what I told them before. Their answer was big eyes and pretending they don't know what I'm talking about.

Please let me clarify - I didn't want to fault Corwin Arms; I can't honestly remember who I bought it off of. I agree that it is a paper weight. I'm going to take it apart tomorrow and play around with it. I have a different one ordered already from another vendor, so if I screw this one up it's no big deal.

No worries. They are history now, we sold them as "paper wights" only. I machined replacement part for it and it worked but the distributor offered no incentive for providing them with working prototype so we shelved it. It was just a simple aluminium block with grove to hold piston captive and prevent it from poping up
