That's actually quite nice, Spencer, as far as "craptacular" furniture goes.

Did you use 600 or like 1500 grit sandpaper? I never considered doing that but it comes out decent looking.

I guess you can polish a turd afterall. ;)
 
I accept my 858 for what it is and have no desire to change the furniture, but I can totally understand why some people do though. Nice stuff by the way Palinak, thanks for bringing this stuff into Canada, you've made a lot of Vz owners happy :)

The only things I'd consider are a but extender (find the original stock too short) and a magazine release extention. Oh yeah and some way of reducing the glare of the grey paint they use, I find it ruins my sight picture.

Did the Czechs ever parkerize their stuff?

One more thing, I tried the metal folding stock on my rifle (and didn't like it) and I needed to use an easy out to unscrew the original stock. They must have gorilla's working at Cz.
 
There is nothing better than sweet revenge... especially on inanimate objects... that'll teach them to exist.

For all the screwdrivers I've broke I went out and got a set of Lifetime Screwdrivers from Lee Valley... well worth it.

i tried the screwdriver route with vicegrips clamped on, it slipped out and smacked my knee, pissed off, i reached for the clawhammer...and saw the saw :) sloooow and painful like :D

Actually the CZ Foundation got together to nominate the first recipient for our award for low upper body strength. You won! Others will follow. Remember: "Bust a stock, prepare for the mock."

That's very funny. In actuality it was the screw that gave out, as I mentioned previously.

This leads me to think that perhaps the award speaks more of the "foundation's" small "endowment" than the strength of the recipient. It is for this reason I will display it proudly.

I checked out the Numrich site. I assume that the stocks they list as wood are the nice ones? They also list red plastic stocks, are these what they come with? Do you need to buy the buttstock, handgaurds and pistol grip all seperate or do they have a package? I didnt see one on there.
 
i dont like the look of the beaver puke furniture either.but to go as far as sawing it off.i think in terms of back up stock is all.i have the folder but if something should happen well i do have that other stock as well.be prepared is all.i would like to see somebody destroy one with a couple rounds of 00 buck lol.now that would be a worthy death for the stock.

You do have to add them to your cart individually.

The wood ones are actually wood, not chips n' plastic!
