CZ 858...Good or Bad?

Hi all,

Can anyone give me any insight on the CZ 858-2? Are these damned things any good, or should I just do what everyone eles is doing and wait for the next shipment of Norc's?

Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

Well, that depends on what you tell me about it....ideally I'd like a to get a rifle that could do a decent job at both.

Well I can't say anything specific about the 858 bit if it's anything like its restrcited counter part you can't go wrong! The 58 is an amazing gun (even though it is restricted) so the 858 should be just as good. I'd go for it if I were you.

Both are good rifles. It's more of an issue which calibre suits your needs. An extra plus for the 858 is how cheap ammo is ($160/1120rds or so) if your going to do alot of shooting for fun. The M305 suits itself better (compared to the 858) for hunting because it's chambered for a full power round. If you can, get one of each, you won't be disappointed.

Great gun, buy one and don't look back. few minor issues are heard of with them, but same as any gun, they're a great rifle overall.

Steiner made a good suggestion. Buy them both! As a gun nut you can't have too many guns. However if the budget is low, buy them both and try them both out. Then just sell off the one you don't like as much. Another idea is to try them both out before you buy them. I'm sure there are some guys on here in your neck of the woods that would let you try their toys out.

I bought a 858 recently , and love it . also everyone who i have let play with it also loves it .It certainly raises a few eyebrows at the range . and where can i get one kinda thing .I put about 500 rounds through mine with no problem and i can get a group of about 2-3 inches with open sights . Although i had to purchase a sight adjustment tool because it was shooting a bit high .
I also got a norc m14 comming too
